Probably is. GM has done some shutdowns that are because of the tariffs also.See this Reddit thread. Might be tariff related.

I heard the Quad is getting a flux capacitor.I mean they are already using the rear motor setup for the quad in the Tri Motor setup so the only thing new here, to my knowledge, is the front motor setup, but maybe they have some other parts that are different from the Tri that I'm unaware of?
Retooling to add the Gary DecalI heard the Quad is getting a flux capacitor.
The tarriff war is starting to impact manufacturing related businesses and it's not good. Our engineering company buys millions of $$ of a variety of stainless steel food processing equipment from European and Asian suppliers. Specifically with the European machines, there are no US manufacturers of the specialized tech and the Europeans have no interest in setting up US manufacturing. We are struggling to provide cost proposals for our future projects because the European and Asian suppliers will only guarantee pricing for 24 HOURS. It's maddening and some of our customers are postponing expansion/growth plans indefinitely because of it. The hidden costs and systemic downside of unpredictable tariffs are real.Probably is. Yes the entire tariff situation is a solution in search of a problem. US already is one of the top manufacturing countries in the world. Being in a trade deficit is not entirely a bad thing as there are certain things we can’t make here or can’t make them economically. Manufacturing is not even close to being one of our GDP drivers. The tarriff war is starting to impact manufacturing related businesses and it's not good. Hopefully Rivian and the other manufacturers are able to figure this out. With Rivian's goal of vertical integration, I hope/assume they are bringing the manufacturing of offshore components in-house where possible.

Rare earth metals aren’t a huge deal as it seems, but general parts from China definitely are. Impossible to escapeI wonder if we'll hear in the May earnings call an updated timeline for R2?
Given the total freeze on rare earths export from China, I can't imagine there is enough materials in the pipeline to maintain without a slowdown of some sort. I hope they start out with transparency about it...
It’s not so much availability of rare earths, it’s the ability to refine them to be used for EV applicationsI wonder if we'll hear in the May earnings call an updated timeline for R2?

And it's nearly impossible to trace where the metals "you" use are coming from. "Your" suppliers have supplier and those guys have their own array of suppliers. Everything gets melted down and blended in the refineries. It's not like every single molecule has a "Made in ____" tag. Another reason the tariffs are moronic. Shows no understanding, beyond surface/casual level, of how global trade and manufacturing works.Rare earth metals aren’t a huge deal as it seems, but general parts from China definitely are.
