you're clearly not getting it. Charging performance is related to range and c-rate

Tesla achieves a decent road tripping performance here by having, good efficiency, and therefore delivering a good range. The charging performance comes from range, not efficiency

Rivian has large battery packs with R1 (to deliver good range) but the road tripping performance is still bad

A rivian R2 has a much larger battery pack than a model Y to deliver a similar range and again the efficiency does not matter since they properly sized the battery pack

The R2 has less than 10 kWh more in terms of 'usable' capacity. I don't consider that 'much larger'.

I was watching while charging my 3 year old r1s. While this is awesome and glad improvements are coming for EV's on fast charging. He put 80kw and I put 56kw in same time in r1s. Based on paying about 60% less (back in 23) with more capability I am OK with almost 4kw per minute on a 90 degree day for my trip.

Will be 10 years if we’re lucky before we see that here in the USA. Grid can’t handle it anyways. Won’t be til 2030 or later before 800v is even the default standard here.

10kWh is a lot. And it's not less than 10kWh. It is pretty much exactly 10kWh

Yea, unfortunately, we are going to be so far behind the rest of the world in battery and charging technology by the time this administration ends, it's a shame.
