  1. Drivers seat comfort in R2

I would not go with that assumption.
  2. California's new $3500 EV rebate favors Rivian over Tesla due to HQ location

Technically. 135 million divided by 13 is closer to TEN MILLION per OEM. (Just maths says it’s 10.35mllion) per oem that is 5934 vehicles.
  3. Sad, but I think I’m out

Absolute safety for INTEREST RATE RETURN is ~ 4.2- 4.5% depending on duration..but of course if a nuclear bomb goes off anything can destroy principle. It’s all taxable these levels. Muni are between 3-4%, and a pretty high investment grade. AA/AAA
  4. California's new $3500 EV rebate favors Rivian over Tesla due to HQ location

Good call, yes as macabre as it sounds with an elderly parent I recommend ppl have them SIGN the transfer form of the title NOW and then put it in a safety deposit box.. it gets messy to transfer or sell it easily if they are the only one listed on the title and something unexpected happens. Ur...
  5. California's new $3500 EV rebate favors Rivian over Tesla due to HQ location

Ur probably better with wife, assuming she lives at your same address.. that is a pretty compelling not transferring reservation criteria.
  6. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

Technically only the version 3 of the tesla mobile connector truly “syncs” properly.. v1, and v2 some users report they work, but are finicky and often stop charging or have to be reset, unplugged, turned of, restarted re-plugged in.

  10. Sad, but I think I’m out

I have a copy of this years UBS global wealth report. That chart doesn't contradict was I put above.. of COURSE the top 10% have less real estate as a percentage of their wealth than the bottom 90%.. they own BUSINESSES and equities, and private equity and other real assets.. but unless they...
  11. Sad, but I think I’m out

Technically the state of CA doesn’t’ even think it was 2x, more like 1.8x. ($544 to $976).. but rounding WILL get you there.
  12. Sad, but I think I’m out

It’s still a bit of a misnomer or misperception though.. of the roughly ~ 24M individuals who are “millionaires” 63% land there mostly from household wealth value, not assets outside a primary residence. The number of liquid millionaires (cash, brokerage, 401Ks etc) is <8M. That’s ~ 2.5% of the...
  13. Looking for best and most cost effective garage charger

Take a look maybe at “state of charge” on youtube.. he’s arguably the most comprehensive an legitimate tester of EV chargers.. has probably tested every single one available in NA at least, and every quarter does a “five best EV chargers” to keep it updated. Also lists deals that are available...
  14. CA EV rebate to launch July 1?

We already had this type of program with the last EV P.O.S rebates that were managed at the dealership through the states registration and title systems. So ”turning the machines back on” Doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult. the only real changes are who the END payer is (the CA state...
  15. California's new $3500 EV rebate favors Rivian over Tesla due to HQ location

Just saying, nobody is building a maglev on that type of corridor (Boston to Washington). Costs for maglev at the LOW end can land at 100M PER MILE, to ~ 250-450M PER mile.. and nothing has been done in many years to decades, so getting any updated costs today hasn’t been done. There HAS been...
  16. Sad, but I think I’m out

Technically 720K 10 yrs ago is todays million..
  17. Sad, but I think I’m out

I think in THIS case, and it’s often with a new gen vehicle, the lease rate is high because nobody knows what the “RESIDUAL VALUE” is going to be at lease end.. neither the lender nor the OEM wants to take on ALL that risk, so it’s factored into the lease terms in the shape of loan rates...
  18. Sad, but I think I’m out

I would argue that most of those ppl mentioned probably have >100M a year in INCOME.. they certainly don’t take any SALARY, and many disciples of that position didn’t like paying the paltry PAYROLL taxes - that was their position. But actual 1040 income, most are well into the low to mid NINE...
  19. Sad, but I think I’m out

My niece was buying a new car.. I told her to finance it for sure. She got a good loan at 3.5%, she has good credit but “only” 85K in income (not including deductions etc.) I told her it was far better to continue to maximize her contributions to her employee pre-tax savings plans and to keep...
  20. Sad, but I think I’m out

There are many ppl who are quite wealthy, who have ”annual incomes” under 100K, with no concern for spending or tax impact.
