Tha R2 specs sound great. I think that Rivian is going to have a real winner in the EV marketplace. They should start producing R2's immediately at the Normal Plant. I don't think that they can wait for for the Georgia Plant.

They can continue to build a few R1's as necessary.

Is 9.8” ground clearance enough for off-road credentials a Rivian is supposed to have? I’m sure it’ll still be quite capable, but I think over 10” would be better. I think a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk trim has 10.8”?

Since these have coil springs, I’m sure R2 would have a healthy aftermarket for higher rides

Rivian needs to build the assembly plant at the speed of Tesla.

Other softroaders like subies advertise 9.2" as "wilderness:

almost 10" stock is great for most people's real needs and use

Not a big deal to “leak” these specs. It’s not like a full reveal image was leaked. This actually helps to build excitement and positive anticipation. If reservations were open you’d likely see a dramatic spike in enrollment. Once reservations do open, I wonder if the site will crash.

On a side note… Noting the positive emotions here and recalling the recent post-earnings negativity… If this forum was one single person, pretty positive that person has bipolar disorder.

It's more of a new Land Cruiser alternative.

I do think the trims will trade range for 0-60 speed.

I think it’s possible to be both very excited about R2, yet feel uncertain about the stock.
