I asked Rivian about 5 months ago and they had nothing planned that they could respond definitively. You can try submitting the question to them and see if they have anything in the works now.Does anyone know if we will have the option of taking delivery of the R2 at the Normal, IL plant and get a tour, similar to R1?
Wait, that was an option? I wish I had known that about 2+ months back.I picked my R1 up at the factory,
It was for a while. They stopped as construction began to expand Normal for R2 production. Do not know if they resumed since.Wait, that was an option? I wish I had known that about 2+ months back.
I’m not sure how my guide arranged mine. It was a last minute approval though, he called me on Tuesday 1/24/2023 said I could pick it up on Thursday 1/26/2023 if I could get there. Went to the bank, got a check, flew in on Wednesday and picked it up on Thursday.I wanted to pick up my R1T LE at the factory in 2022, but they wouldn't let me. Seems like you had to be "special" to get that opportunity and the perks that came with it at the time.
I think with the R2 being a mass-produced vehicle that would be too many tours for them to handle. They should have a lottery or something though. I’d love to see the new setup.Does anyone know if we will have the option of taking delivery of the R2 at the Normal, IL plant and get a tour, similar to R1?
I’ve done factory tours at Audi and Porsche in Germany. A Rivian tour would be cool.Safety and a scripted story is needed. Do other manufacturers offer tours?
BMW pickup in Spartenburg, SC is pretty cool. The Ford F150 plant tour in Dearborn is great (doesn't even require a purchase)Safety and a scripted story is needed. Do other manufacturers offer tours?
I think any manufacturer that does factory delivery does that. They'll still charge you for destination iirc![]()
I know Subaru does in their Indiana plant.Safety and a scripted story is needed. Do other manufacturers offer tours?
