R2 Delivery at Normal, IL Plant?

I asked Rivian about 5 months ago and they had nothing planned that they could respond definitively. You can try submitting the question to them and see if they have anything in the works now.

I picked my R1 up at the factory, would love to pick the R2 up as well if possible to see the changes there in the last 3 years.

It was for a while. They stopped as construction began to expand Normal for R2 production. Do not know if they resumed since.

I’m not sure how my guide arranged mine. It was a last minute approval though, he called me on Tuesday 1/24/2023 said I could pick it up on Thursday 1/26/2023 if I could get there. Went to the bank, got a check, flew in on Wednesday and picked it up on Thursday.

I test drove an R1S on Saturday. When I inquired about factory delivery (I'm outside of Chicago), I was told that you can currently take delivery at the Normal, IL Rivian center, but they are not currently offering factory tours. The rep told me he didn't know when those will resume due to retooling for R2.

I think with the R2 being a mass-produced vehicle that would be too many tours for them to handle. They should have a lottery or something though. I’d love to see the new setup.

I’ve done factory tours at Audi and Porsche in Germany. A Rivian tour would be cool.

BMW pickup in Spartenburg, SC is pretty cool. The Ford F150 plant tour in Dearborn is great (doesn't even require a purchase)

Things may change again, but they quit doing plant tours over a year ago. I'm in Illinois, but picked up all four of my Ts at the plant.
