Probably little to no direct impact. They are all still low volume vehicles and R2 is simply too small for many R1 owners. Personally I'm on the fence as to whether I can live with the huge hit in storage & usefulness if I trade my R1T for an R2, but the latest tech would be nice. However there is no way we would trade my wife's R1S to downsize.
I think you would be surprised on the comp to the R1S. Really the only loss is about 1/2 a foot to the cargo area. The rear seat is significantly larger than the T and I think about 15% more room than the S.

It’s that 6ā€ that’s the issue. We frequently need all the rear space in the S with the second row seats up. Plus the odd occasion to use all three rows. My original plan was to replace my wife’s Lexus RX with the R2 but we found a great deal on an S a few months ago and she loves it. We aren’t considering that trade at all.

In SUV vs truck comparison the loss of utlity is huge no matter if it’s an S or R2. No gear tunnel or under seat storage means some things I leave in the T all the time will either be left at home or take up other storage space. And that’s not even considering the bed.

I kinda look at R2 as a return to my old Jeep XJ Cherokee of 30 years ago but with an infinitely more usable/comfortable rear seat. šŸ˜†

Just checked to see what my 2023 R1T QM would net and got a quote from Rivian for $49,750. Residual is $55k.

Just checked Carvana and it came back $500 less in value.
Did you check CarMax? They are a retailer of used Rivian's nationwide, with the vast majority directly purchased from Rivian.

If you have an Echo Park in your area I suggest you try there as well. They have been better than Carmax for me.

Try Carvana and CarMax. They usually give a premium to EV’s
Well I think I may get an early invite to place my order for the R2 given my first day reservation and having owned two prior R1T's, the current one being a 2024 Quad fully loaded, off road package and even factory full Stealth PPF. Sticker was roughly $96k. Given the R2 pricing with the performance package fully loaded is in mid 60's, thought maybe was going to be nearly even trade. I only have 14,500 miles on the R1T. So i went online at Rivian to get a trade in quote and i was a bit shocked that it only came in at $56,870, so 40% off in two years (3 years by model since R2 will be 27 model year). So then i checked Edmunds and got the below value which is $69k private party and $76k dealer list. This trade in value was put in as if it were going against an R1 since Rivian is not giving trade in values until June 9th, but if it's this low, I may have to rethink my trade in strategy. If you're curious about your existing R1 value as a trade, you're only 9 days away from finding out, or you can do it now as the trade in value is good for 14 days. Thought it would at least be closer to the Edmunds clean value.

Carvana is the way to go. I’ve sold several vehicles to them all for a fair price with ZERO hassle.

I think you need to get quote from all 4: Recurrent, CarMax, Driveo, and Carvana

I've been getting quotes continually for the past 3-4 months from all 4 and it's interesting to see the price variance and how they change over time. Driveo was consistently the highest until this past week, suddenly Recurrent is offering me move. But Driveo offers to beat any other offer, so they upped it and beat Recurrent's offer.

Just for reference, here is the wide range of quotes I just got last week for my wife's Model 3:
Recurrent - $25,050
Driveo - $25,000 (updated to $25,200 to beat recurrent)
CarMax - $23,000
Carvana - $21,800
