R1S 360 camera distortion.

I’ve driven two R1S’ and the birdseye view is so distorted. Service center looked at it twice and hasn’t been able to rectify it. One rep is trying to says it’s “normal”. I’ve had 360 cams before and none ever looked like this. I’ve had the R1T and it never looked like that either. Anyone with the same issue?

Weirdness with the lines looking mirrored is normal. Other one looks like the vehicle has a license plate on the front?

Not sure what you are referencing. If it is the line and fuzziness in the front that comes from the license plate frame, I have that as well. If something else can you explain more?

Same issue with my R1S. My R1T isn't nearly as bad. Service center calibrated it on two separate occasions and then said all the other ones on the lot behave the same and they expect software update in the future to address it.

I have R1T and it looks the same. The plate line in the front seems a bit more but otherwise all the cameras look fine. Maybe I am missing something.

it's 100% your license plate frame causing the distortion, take off the license place completely I am confident it'll go away, then you can find a thinner license plate frame to replace it with or run without a frame.

I think it’s dumb this still isn’t fixed. We have had the same issue since taking delivery and it’s the most annoying part of the camera system.

Yup! It’s even more annoying off-road. Service cancelled my appointment saying they can’t fix it at the moment and they are aware it’s a software issue they hope to sort out.

“Service center refuses to fix defect under warranty” should be grounds for a lawsuit, but of course, nobody is going to sue over just this. I hate this cop-out that software bugs aren’t real defects.

My car didn't have these distortions but I noticed that she has them now. I blamed that to the OTA updates.
