My golf bag lives in the frunk 99% of the time. I also have my charger and adapters, some ratchet straps, a rain jacket and a bin with spray bottles and towels (many chargers don't have squeegees, so that gets used every trip)

I think the shrunk frunk in the R2 will be my biggest con.
Currently use the R1S frunk all the time. Partly because I pull into my garage nose-first due to parking obstacles.

I agree, but when you think of where everything is, it makes sense. I know they made it a smaller length (front to back horizontal) to fit European standards. Depth is limited by the motors, and sides are limited by the suspension. Basically, there wasn't much the engineers could do.

Don't limit your answer to Rivians only.
Oh...now I'm not sure how to answer. For my Rivian, once every 2-3 drives. For our current Tesla, 10-15 times over the last 8 years, zero times in the last 2-3 years.

R1T here. I keep all my charging gear, front sunshade (UVS100) in the frunk so in the summer I am in there a lot for the sunshade. Otherwise I frequently use it for groceries. Gear tunnel is everyday usage for kids backpacks, folding chairs, sports gear. Agree, I might not use it as much with an R1S.

I probably use the frunk more than the bed.

Gen1 R1S - We use ours daily if not multiple times a day.

Below the divider: BestEvMod Insulated Cooler Bag (although this gets a lot less use now that I have a small fridge in the subtrunk), a 12V jumpgox (for helping our ICE friends), our TeslaTap L2 adapter (because we rarely need it - the L3 adapter lives in the door pocket), and a rechargable lantern in case of a nighttime roadside emergency.

Mesh Pocket: Reusable shopping bags, microfiber for a post-carwash cleanup, and my BlueMaestro Disc Mini Temp that I use to track the frunk temperature

Above the divider: Umbrellas (2) along with two Instacrates...

I know the frunk on the R2 is smaller and am really looking forward to how I can make the most of that space.

I appreciate how the R1S has a Frunk button , I find I use the frunk way more in R1S then I do in Model Y as it's easier to access vs pulling out phont/app in the Tesla. Whenever I'm out shopping it's my go-to place to store packages/grocercies , etc. I also store my adapters and cleaning supplies in the cubby areas that make it easy to access while charging.

The Model Y’s frunk is a joke. 😉

It's our clean storage for groceries, take out etc. it lets me skip the Costco boxes and the need to recycle them. If we take my wife's SUV, we get boxes to put groceries in the trunk.

Yes, but it will drive itself :)
I never use that either. FSD or any self-driving functions for me is off limits. I’m not gonna trust any of these features to make the right decision for me and my family.

Choose whichever way you want the results to be skewed

I use it all the time.

First, its a great place to stash something valuable. Things in the Frunk cannot be seen from the outside and even if someone breaks in to the cabin, they probably aren't going to be able to access the frunk (or think to do so). I do realize there is emergency access, but that takes Rivian specific dedicated knowledge, special tools, and time that most thieves of opportunity do not have (e.g., the smash and grab kind).

Second, it's a great place for dirty things - e.g., dirt from the home store, fertilizer, etc...

Third, it's a great place for take out - keeps the interior of the car from getting smelly.

Fourth, I keep my charging and towing adapters and cables there - a perfect spot for it.

We use our model Y's frunk less, but that is because a.) it's smaller and b.) it's not powered + tesla's sheet metal is so thin that its common to dent the hood closing it. However, I did install an aftermarket "soft close" mechanism on the Y after I dented the hood trying to get it to latch and now we use it more (still not as much as the R1s). My wife usually stores the dog blankets and charging adapters there.

Daily thru the school year. I put my work stuff in the Frunk so the kids can have the backseat.

Summer, I use the backseat.
