Isn't that what the post office did with Oshkosh?
Isn’t Ford providing the engines (ICE and Electric) and pretty much the full powertrain to Oshkosh?

Is there any chance us pre-order holders get shut out of the ipo? WIth price going up and demand obviosuly high from the big institutions and fact we have heard nothing yet indicate maybe there are no shares left for us? Sorry if this is a stupid question but first time dipping my toes in the ipo waters.

Damn. No thanks. As much as I love and support Rivian thus far, I'm having a really hard time with that valuation.

What justified the big jump?
What has justified Tesla's $1.2T valuation? That's insane

NO! Been logged on, and there is no way to allocate DSP shares that I can find!!! Its now 636 CST, wasn’t the allocating suppose to be up with final share cost at 5pm EST?!
So when do us suckers get to click on purchase of these overpriced, overhyped IPO stocks? Tonight?

The Morgan Stanely notice did say:

"The Rivian Automotive Inc.'s (the "Company") initial public offering is scheduled to price later today, November 09, 2021, any time after 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. After the offering has priced, you will receive an email from Morgan Stanley that will include pricing information and instructions on how to confirm your allocation of shares. You will only be able to confirm your allocation after receiving this email. "

The offer will come, the question is...What are you going to do with it?

Well $62/share was tough enough to pencil out. $78/share? I'll wish them all the success in the world. Keeping my funds on the ready, I'll buy the dip.

I really like what they're doing; just not at $78/share. Well not for me anyhow....too much money to be made elsewhere in the market right now.
That is a smart move my friend - I think buying the dip is the way to go here

Neither have I... as far as the ramp up i don't think Rivian will struggle as Tesla did.

Tesla was actually fabricating some of their own structural suspension parts, I know sadly because a strut broke on my car and by the time they sent replacement parts they weren't even the right ones because Tesla had already made changes in house to them (the ones that were being mass-produced on the assembly line for the Model S had changed). I think Rivian is going more off the shelf with the bulk of their heavy duty parts and will stick to that.

I think it will take Rivian a LOT longer to ramp up than it took Tesla.
Depends what date you start from. It took Tesla 18 years to get to 800,000 vehicles (They were founded in 2003).

Wow! At $78 per share, and 175 share cap, that's $13,650, which is just $150 short of my annual starting salary just out of college in 1980! That's got to be a sign! I'm in!!!! :CWL:

Not gotten my Morgan Stanley notice yet either.

I haven't gotten anything either, but that's OK b/c it's a hard pass for me at that pricing. I hope the raise is a huge success to give them lots of liquidity to get through the production ramp.
