Looks right at home. How was the result? Not a lot of chargers in Moab.

We are still years away from using a BEV pickup as a practical tow vehicle. The range simply isn’t there yet.

Too general a statement. Perfect tow vehicle for my needs in and around town. inconvenient for long towing trips but doable.

Edit. I’m still keeping my F150 power boost for cross country towing ?‍♂

There's hundreds of thousands of people who tow trailers 25 - 100 miles round trip or one way for day and weekend camping and boating adventures, hauling materials, etc. etc.

You might be years away, but it works for lots of people today.

It depends on what range you need. It's perfect for every used I've had except the one time I moved across the Country.

The R1T will suffice for our towing needs, we never tow our 20' Grady White more than 25mi (one way) from home. If we ever needed to tow something further than that, we have a gasser SUV.

My Buddy’s R1T had to step in for towing duties in Moab the other day when certain other ‘trucks’ were not up to the task. ?
I am curious, what were the certain other "trucks' that weren't up to task?

I bet some of the others there weren't happy about that! ?

I’ll get a better report when he gets back today. Not meant to be a ‘too’ serious of a post ? but he sent a pic of an SUV that was sagging pretty badly with that trailer on and they did switch to the R1T. Pretty neat picture tho…

We plan to use our R1T to tow our 25' Airstream Travel Trailer. We realize that the between charge range will be about 100 miles. This will work for us in most of our towing situations. We do intend to hold on to our 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax for those times that our Rivian cannot easily handle the task.

4 motors and all that torque ought to be like magic on a slippery launch ramp

Yes, indeed. At low tide it gets very "interesting" sometimes with all the slime on the ramp. The extra weight of the R1T vs. our Honda Pilot should be helpful too. Boat/motor/trailer only amount to about 3,500 lbs, so should be pretty easy for the R1T.

Our Airstream is a 23' and I am waiting until next year to get the Max Pack. Whenever that time comes, I'll decide if I want to get rid of our diesel VW Touareg and have only the R1T for towing, or get rid of our little Honda Fit. We have never liked towing long stretches, but I want to see what the reality of charging with a trailer might look like.
