Tires Wearing Out by 25k miles, 20 inch A/T

The disaster continuesā€¦ first two scorpions at 13k, second two at 16k, now at 25k all need to be replaced again. I stopped using conserve a long time ago as that is considered one of the culprits, but the wear on tires and associated expense is crazy and one of the very few negatives I have on...

CarPlay & Android Auto Smart Dash Screen has arrived! New from EVSportline.com

My favorite is Spotify suddenly blasting out of my phone when walking around in my house or returning to the R1T and having my phone start playing Spotify and the R1T stereo also playing Spotify - usually the same song but not synced.

    Colorado Checking In

Just put mine in as well. Overall, pretty slick set-up. Love having Waze and Google Maps up front and center and the phone sitting qietly.

CarPlay & Android Auto Smart Dash Screen has arrived! New from EVSportline.com

I've had mine for a week or so now. The unit and bracket were delivered separately which was fine and the company did a nice job of sending an email letting me know that's how it was going to happen. Install was easy and the screen sits securely in it's "slot". There can be a little rattling...

Just got the "Powered Tonneau Fix is Ready" email! Replacement installation appointments start next month (Nov)!

Mine just recently broke at about 2 years of light use. Wonā€™t close fully and now is just kind of non-functional. I had a service appointment for other issues on the calendar and when I called to say that I now had a broken tonneau cover, was told that they would call me when that fix would be...

1up rack fitment on bed crossbars

I use a simple tailgate pad on the R1T to carry my heavy e-bike around. It has worked fine to date but, I was just in a very minor fender bender and the tailgate folded like a ā€˜cheap deck of cardsā€™ and you canā€™t pop aluminum out like you can sheet metal soā€¦. Iā€™m more careful with putting...

Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Just did 4 days sitting outside; 20-35F temps; no GG 14% lost/3.5% per day/41mi

My general experience as well - CarMax being best offer or the same as best offer. Just sold a Tesla Model S, CarMax $8k higher than what Tesla offered for trade-in. YMMV

Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

Currently using two Tesla Gen 3 wall connectors on a 50a circuit with the Lectron adapter. Not my final solution but it works fine.

Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Completely agree. When I bought a Model S in 2017 i was immediately caught up in the vampire drain panic of that model. Now, 5 wonderful years later with the S, I realize i haven't thought about drain for most of that time. Drain did get better and you just move past it to a degree. Here i am...

Using a 48a Tesla wall connector to charge an R1T

I finally got connected to the Tesla units and realized the default amperage setting was 60a. Changed that to 50a and from that point on the R1T charged fine with the Lectron adapter.

Using a 48a Tesla wall connector to charge an R1T

Hmmm, ok, I was just reading from the manual where it said default was ā€˜all carsā€™ but when I connect, all will be clear.

Tax Credit Implications Pre March 2022 Preorder Holders

My understanding is that the key milestone for all the new regulations is when you actually purchase the car, so at that point the vehicle cost, parts and income restrictions are in play. This is why some EV companies are trying to get full purchase commitments immediately. Of course, this is a...

Using a 48a Tesla wall connector to charge an R1T

Thanks. I will connect next time Iā€™m there. Turns out that the default mode out of the box is supposed to be ā€˜all carsā€™ vs the ā€˜Tesla onlyā€™ option, so that should not have been the issue. I need to talk to Tesla when Iā€™m at the chargers.

Using a 48a Tesla wall connector to charge an R1T

Thanks for this. Unfortunately, I donā€™t have Wi-Fi yet at this location so have not connected to the Tesla connectors so maybe that is the issue although I am confused because if the initial successful charge of the R1T.

Using a 48a Tesla wall connector to charge an R1T

I have two Tesla Gen3 wall connectors currently on two separate 50a circuits (would like to go to 60a in time possibly). Itā€™s early days, but I am experiencing mixed results with charging the R1T with the Lectron 48a adapter. Initially, the R1T charged at about 15miles/hr without issue (over...

Steering Wheel Shake at Highway Speeds

Iā€™m one of the early owners who had head-shake from the very beginning and they brought the truck to the Denver service center and did a wheel re-balancing. It did help quite a bit, but has not been the complete solution so interesting to hear what you passed on. I have also noticed that road...

    Charging before Wall Charger Delivered

I have been starting to experiment with a couple of different charging set-ups as I get close to moving into a house and actually have access to electricity to charge vs where I have been living. First charged the R1T on a 240v 50a circuit direct to a 14-50 plug. Got 8kWh and maybe a 12 -...

Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Yes, Iā€™d say it was about 4 kWh/day and I was shocked, but Iā€™ve seen much less drain day to day in normal use so Iā€™m a bit unsure of what to expect which is an issue in itself. I went through this with our Model S as well, and it definitely improved over time as Iā€™m sure the R1T will, but it...
