Alright, received the RiviParts Pro 1in ball mount and it's much more secure than the 1st version. It'll actually hold the Long Ram 1in Ball Mount + my custom PeakDesign Wall mount + Ram 1in plate.

This clears the steering wheel entirely and does not have half the phone screen cut off like with a medium sized arm

This works really well! Could you explain the parts better?

I really like what Rob designed but do not have wireless support on my Android. I found a magnetic phone holder on Amazon that I think has a much cleaner/pro look and designed my own 3D printed part to accept it with no screws or glue. So this is a 100% snap it in and snap it out assembly.

I also found what I believe is a very clean way to keep the charging cord mostly hidden.

If you like what you see, see my youtube video...

same here, except with 67Design parts. I already have some of these parts from my Gladiator so I stuck with it. I did have to order the 1in ball to 20mm nano arm to match my existing accessories.

For those of you with the phone mounted near the center dash and low enough that it is blocked by the steering wheel -

Is it relatively easy to shift in your seat enough to view the full screen?

Like occasionally if I want to view the full screen to check a Google Maps direction, can I lean over enough to see the full screen?

I have it and I'm not a fan. It's marginally better than nothing but the steering wheel is just far too in the way and leaning or otherwise altering your seating position just doesn't help much, making it pretty annoying overall. I''l be working working towards a modified solution as many above have posted.

Cheap, easy, temporary phone holder that fits well in R1T:

Obviously the biggest drawback is loss of a cup holder, but the location/position of it is perfect and It’s simple to utilize or stow as necessary.

Here’s a new model I cooked up using the screen wedge technique. It holds pretty strong and puts the phone in a position that’s not blocked by the steering wheel. I included ball sizes for 15mm, 17mm and 1 inch.

What are your print settings for it? Are you printing vertically or horizontally?

I wanted to give it a try but snapped two of them already during installation. So my mix is likely off I’m not getting enough flex on the holder

I would definitely recommend printing vertically using PETG. If you print it lying down, the layers will separate while installing since it is bending parallel to the layer lines. PET or another rigid flexible filament is needed so it can flex enough to install. PLA would definitely break and deform when the cab gets hot in the sun.

Hope that helps!

It does, I’m already using PETG. Also the following:

Bed: 80C
Nozzle: 230C
Layer: 0.12mm
Shell: 4
Top Solid Layers: 4
Bottom Solid Layers: 4
Fill Density: 15% Hex

It's not the settings for your printer, it's the orientation at which you are printing it. The weakest part of any 3D print is between the layers. It's easy to pull from the other.

If you flip your print and get the layers going a different direction, it should work out better for you.

Those settings look fine for sure. Just make sure you have it oriented upright when printing. When printing, the ball end should be ant the top and the clip should be all the way at the bottom like how it would be oriented while mounting in the car.
