I have a loose part rolling around somewhere in the area beneath or behind or above the bluetooth speaker. It sounds like a nut or a screw rolling forward or backward depending on the motion of the vehicle…accelerate (clunk) then decelerate (clunk). Imagine the sound a marble would make if it were loose in the center console. Sometimes it gets stuck for a bit, but it never goes away for long. It’s driving me crazy.
I don’t want the inconvenience of taking to the service center l and would prefer to figure it out myself. The only problem is, I don’t even know where to begin taking the console apart.

Any tips or tricks or how-tos or warnings would be greatly appreciated!

This would drive me absolutely bonkers! Take this to the service center would be my advice. It will be much less hassle in the long run. We don't have any service manuals for these vehicles yet. If you take it to service it saves you time taking things apart and putting them back together and if Rivian breaks something while doing so they will have to replace it.

Did you fix it or do you still want info about center console disassembly?
The good-idea fairy whispered in my ear so now my center console looks like this...

For what you described, first attempt would probably only be a few minutes, five screws and a half dozen clips to get the front trim and liner around the speaker dock out. I could take specific pics as it goes together tomorrow, if helpful.

This is incredible! I haven’t attempted this yet. If you could share any specifics and photos about the initial clip and screw locations that would be great.

Thanks for the share!

Once the liner is out, the trim surrounding the speaker port pulls straight forward. Pic shows clip locations - be sure to unclip the light before tugging on the trim panel.
Then the speaker liner comes out with five screws. Pic shows screws removed.
Other pics show the two front trim panels above and below the cup holder. Of you want, the cup holder comes out with three screws.
The other main console trim panels come out from bottom to top.
1. Rear center panel under the 120v outlet pops off to the rear.
2. Left and right lower side panels from footwell to second row footwell. One screw each front top, then lots of clips.
3. 120v outlet panel pops off to the rear.
3. Left & right upper side panels have one screw at rear under the 120v panel, then lots of clips that pop to the side.
4. Silver top trim is many screws, then poop the sides out to clear the short pegs, then slide forward off front pegs. The pegs were snug on mine so I had to gently pry on the flange for each while keeping the corresponding side from catching.

The deep center bin unit is a couple more steps and I stopped when the center console casting was loose and i could check under it. I did all this with both seats still in but it would be easier with them out. I have more pics and can answer questions for anyone still reading...

Panel pics so you can see fastener locations.
Random bit that surprised/slowed me is that the bottom of the cupholder bay has six clips into the top of the central casting.
Another unexpected feature is that the large plastic tray/frame between the console and dash is secured to the air vents it covers by at least one screw FROM THE BOTTOM in the middle so you cant remove it without unbolting the casting from the floor (which is only four bolts) to get under the air ducts.

This is absolutely incredible and appreciated more than you can imagine. Thanks a million.

I’m pleased to report that after 3 months of annoyance, I’ve located the source of the intermittent rattle. With the help of Riptonite’s photos and instructions, all I had to do was remove the front trim and speaker liner and there it was…a loose trim clip. My bonus accessory from the factory.
