What does Ford's long-term battery degradation look like at say 100K miles?

I have an early reservation (first 19K). Will we be able to test drive prior to ordering?

As with everyone else...Why all the speculation on the range? Is 300 miles EPA or something else?

Thank you!

Are they using the Rivian Skateboard?

This is a general question, maybe obvious to most, sorry.

It looks like they have their own design. If you watch Sandy Munros video Ford has isolated the battery which I believe is different than what Rivian is doing.

Ford has already said it is not. No need to apologize.

Can you ask if solar panels are required to use V2G function for battery backup? There seems to be some confusion on that

I cannot imagine it would, you do not need solar to install a battery backup system. The backup would be charged from the grid and kick in when the grid is down.

It would be nice to know if the charger comes with everything to handle the VtoH feature or if there are other modules required to handle disconnecting the panel from the grid when it is in use.

I am seeing conflicting information on it. Somebody asked the installer that Ford is partnering with and they told him the vehicle to home would only work on houses with solar panels installed. Doesn’t make sense to me either

Perhaps it’s not the solar panels specifically, but the inverter that’s typically part of the system that’s connected to the breaker panel.
Something has to convert the DC to AC.

Ford is not doing V2G with the Lightning. They have announced a form of V2H with the truck able to provide backup power during an outage.

They have announced a future product (unclear if you can upgrade) that may be V2G, or just a fully implemented V2H system (neither the v2H or V2G standards have been finalized)
" In the future, Ford will introduce Ford Intelligent Power, which can use the truck to power homes during high-cost, peak-energy hours while taking advantage of low-cost overnight rates to charge the vehicle in time for your morning drive. This can help save money on electricity that powers your vehicle and home while also taking pressure off the grid in peak usage times. "

That should be done on the onboard vehicle charger. The wall chargers for the home are AC chargers. The vehicles have an on board charger that converts from AC to DC when loading into the battery. Vehicles that support VtoH and VtoG should be making this DC to AC conversion before it leaves the vehicle.
