How to disassemble rear tailgate ?

I have a dent on the rear of my R1T (just below top cap and above brake light) and need to remove the rear panel of the tailgate for paintless dent repair. I removed the 4 screws at the bottom of the black panel but it seems to be locked in with the top cap. Anyone have experience removing the top cap without damaging it? Rivian has directed me to their authorized collision centers, which have been no help.

Check out this thread for a photo of it removed and the underlying clips. Should be a matter of just popping it up and off.
