nice! Looks like only the front dampers were replaced. If you look at the front dampers, do they have these part #s?

Right: PT200055320 - E
Left: PT200055318 - E

judging from the part # of the entire damper module assembly, I’m guessing you have revision D, which is what the 2024 Gen 1 have.

So one key observation, took a look at a G2 Tri and the rear damper PN was the same as our original G1 quad rear damper.
you have a 2023 Quad right? And you had the dampers replaced so it makes sense they’re the same as a G2.

is the # of the rear damper PT00055237-E?

The rear dampers are original, the air springs in the back are G2. Front coil over setup (air springs and dampers) are G2.

This is what I managed to take of the front. Can't really get any good pictures of the rear.

Not sure what they mean by “damper assembly,” but the photos show you have the early 2752 Launch Edition dampers. I could have the numbers wrong, and maybe 2752 is just the R1T # whereas 55318 is the R1S. If that’s the case, maybe you have the J revision of the 2752 which is a later version of an R1T damper. Or, maybe the damper part #s are the same for both vehicles and you just have the older LE one.

eBay parts listings suggest the part # are the same for R1S and R1T, so I think you just have the older 2752 LE dampers.

I had no luck getting anyone in the Rivian community to take a photo of their rear Gen 2 damper. I happened to be by the Rivian pop up in Seattle so I just snapped a few shots while I was there.

The rear left damper had this part# PT00055237-H

This is from a July 2024 build, vin 54429

So as expected, the Gen 2 rear damper is a few revisions later than the 2024 Gen 1 damper (PT00055237-E)

I have no idea what they changed in each revision, but I’m guessing the differences are small as they’d probably create an entirely new part # if it was thoroughly redesigned.

The rear Gen 2 air spring has this part # C100964202-A

While the dampers on the late Gen 1s appear to be earlier revisions of the Gen 2 dampers (55318 on the front and 55237 on the back,) the rear air springs on the Gen 2s are a totally different part number.

My 2023 Gen 1 has a C100001909-J rear air spring where as the Gen 2 has a C100964202-A

Probably a major change there, but Rivian said the Gen 2 changes were more centered around the dampers so not sure what the difference is with the air springs.

This is a great thread, been following closely. Would remind/ask people to state their model (R1T or R1S) when they post about what PN's they have. Key info and it's hard to go back and keep track.

I'll add some data. My 2024 R1T VIN 7FCTGBAA3RN03XXXX went in for a clunking suspension fix this week. While the problem wasn't fixed (sigh) the attempt to do so was the replacement of the front dampers (I already had the hub bolt fix done in a previous visit). Ride quality was good before the visit and remained so afterward.

The front dampers were replaced. From the service order:

Correction/Remedy:

- Dampers, Front, LH/RH (Retrofit)

- Noise Vibration and Harshness General Diagnostic

DAMPER MODULE ASSY - R1T; FRT LH

Part# PT00437091-D

DAMPER MODULE ASSY - R1T; FRT RH

Part# PT00437092-D

Part# SC00019360-A

I had what looks like Gen 1 dampers before this replacement

Interesting they did new dampeners but left original jounce lines.

Yes, I don't have the jounce line squeaking. My issue I described as:

Concern:

- Customer states: on an undisclosed date and time since "delivery the vehicle has had a significant clunking noise from the left front and left rear suspension. This occurs when the suspension is unweighted such as when going over bumps. A service was performed to tighten the hub bolts, but that did not improve the suspension issue."

My previous SC visit resulted in FSAM-1507 service campaign:

Concern:

- Customer states: there is a rattling noise coming from the front and rear left suspension. This happens anytime the vehicle is driven, on flat and bumpy roads. Timestamp: Since delivery-

~7/15 This was confirmed by Rivian tech on WO-000000846632

Cause:

- Issue was directly related to FSAM - 1507. After all hub bolts were torqued to the correct specification this concern was resolved. No further action required. Please be advised the R1T is purpose built to have increased suspension travel which results in noise when going over bumps and is intended to operate in the manor.

Correction/Remedy:

- Noise Vibration and Harshness General Diagnostic | Labor Code: 930099012 | 0.5 hr* | $100.00

- Test Drive, 10 Minutes | Labor Code: 981050013 | 0.2 hr* | $40.00

Concern:

- Perform FSAM-1507

Cause:

- Performed FSAM - 1507 as per internal documentation. No further action required at this time.

Correction/Remedy:

- Tighten all hub to knuckle fasteners
