Fishing Gear -- rod holder for 10' rods?

Dunno if this is the right thread for this, but need some recommendations on a fishing rod holder for 10' rods.

I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the ones that you strap to the interior of the vehicle.

I'm leaning toward the trailer hitch kind, but wonder if there are any cons besides the rods sticking up ten feet in the air...

Any good exterior suction cup or magnet solutions you use?

Harbor Freight aluminum cargo rack with homebrew PVC pipe rod holders. Upper attachment is a stainless U Bolt. Lower attachment is a stainless 1/4-20 through bolt that acts as the rod support to keep it from dropping out the bottom of the PVC.

I think we were at at Broadkill / Beach Plum Island when I took this picture. I carry chairs in the cargo rack. I've had no issues with this setup at highway speeds.
