My understanding though is this is just the total number of orders at this point it’s not separated between truck and SUV, is that correct?
Assuming that we are correct about the number, then that is the common understanding.

Correct, and does not take into account cancellations, nor the mystery jumps (around 25K total) from Dec 2019 & May 2020.

Order #41498 - R1S
Placed Feb. 2020 @ Fully Charged Expo in Austin - it truly seems more like a year or more ago.

BTW, searching page source on Chrome does NOT reveal order number.

I'm also curious whether bulk/fleet order commitments could affect consumer orders.
Yes, that's possible. They might have a quota as part of the fleet order contract.

Also note about the jump: I personally doubt that fleet orders are tracked in this system. As an admin, there are plenty of reasons you'd want to tweak the AUTO_INCREMENT. None of them have anything to do with customers placing an order.

The backend for this is Shopify, so Rivian might not be actually active admin on order #s/database. @Diamonds0a , thoughts?

Google search results would seem to indicate that Shopify starts order #s at 1001 for a new store and increments from there.
Interesting. So then, based purely on this fact, everyone is actually 1001 places earlier in line? (Might be a stupid question, but better to clarify)
