The EX90 Reddit has been a unique shit show of experiences, which coincidentally match the experiences of the people I know with the vehicle. The EX90 rollout is a large part of the reason they got a new CEO last year. It bums me out, we loved our XC60 and had high hopes for the EX90, but by and large, the launch and software has been an absolute train wreck.Hold on now. We can’t cite to Reddit only when we want to lol. Everyone here says that the Rivian Reddit is a mess and full of complainers that do not represent the average Rivian experience.
Same for Volvo.
I recently asked a friend how their EX90 has been recently after hearing that Volvo pushed some big software updates to fix issues, and this was his response:
"Stable(ish), but not bug free. Volvo makes Rivian SW look flawless. Ask me how many times the vehicle has driven forwards while in reverse."
And that was a huge leap forward from what he experienced earlier in 2025, which when I asked him in May I asked if his experience was consistent with the EX90 subreddit's, and he response was:
"great car, software ruins it. We were in a hurry to go somewhere one day and it was just brick."
or "you should drive an ex90, the seat belt chimes go crazy for hours for unoccupied seats."
