This $12-15 per month charge is really just paying for 5G FTE and Live Security the rest of the features are just extras. It feels like a good deal to me.

That's because the last time you tried this, you weren't on the referenced software release...Are you sure about this? Last time I tried, Rivian can't connect to iphone's hotspot.
If only it was 5G. I wish they would have went 5G instead of LTE (4G)This $12-15 per month charge is really just paying for 5G FTE and Live Security the rest of the features are just extras. It feels like a good deal to me.
Even cheaper by the year (12.50 a month). At 149 a year, if you paid 80k for the vehicle and pay the subscription for 4 years it is .7% of the vehicle cost.Rivian is going to keep adding things in. I hope they don't raise the price as that happens but they probably eventually will.
That said, I'm constantly amazed at the people who go on and on about buying a $100,000 car but won't pay $15/mo for the data they use in it.
In my wildest dreams, I can imagine that module being upgradeable. We already know it can (and does) fail, and is a "fairly easy" replacement. Although I doubt they'll invest in it now since 2nd gen most likely uses something completely different. ?If only it was 5G. I wish they would have went 5G instead of LTE (4G)
Don't care about Apple Music. Will Amazon music and Spotify still work?
It's wild. Hotspot alone is worth $15/month.Rivian is going to keep adding things in. I hope they don't raise the price as that happens but they probably eventually will.

I didn't know about that option. Thanks!Just got it too. I'm struggling to understand why I'd subscribe to Connect+ if I'm perfectly happy with all the entertainment options I'm getting from my EV Sportline Smart Dash
It seems to me, like (although maybe not as 'integrated'), the EV Sportline product actually gives me way more than Connect+, and piggybacks on my already cheap/strong 5G mobile phone. Maybe I'm missing the value proposition of Connect+

You have Spotify/Tidal/hotspot right? Free data was supposed to end many months ago. You've effectively had a free trial since you bought the vehicle. This is my only beef with this new Connect+ plan. I'll pay the $12/month to stream Spotify vs. connect with Bluetooth with noticeably diminished audio quality (for an already sub-standard sound system) but starting the trial before I have the update feels dirty.
