Comma 4 install help - longitudinal control not working

Hi all,
Was hoping to get some help. I installed comma 4 today, along with lucas’ harness and longitudinal upgrade and sunnypilot and while the steering works, i cant get it to use comma for longitudinal control. Its still using rivians longitudinal control. Ive enabled it in the options menu using sunnylink but it doesnt seem to work.

Ive already check that all cables are tight.

no errors or anything on the car. I have tried both the staging and regular versions of sunnypilot.

Is the LED on the longitudinal upgrade flashing blue and red? If so try removing the USB cable rotating it 180° and then reinserting it.

There seems to be a blue one that is on and a red flashing one. Ive tried flipping the usb c and no luck

Are you sure it isn't giving you longitudinal control?

Maybe it is? I thought id see the speed limit on the comma 4. Additionally i still have Rivians blue icon and follow distance. Here’s what i see on comma

Everything on the rivian's dash stays the same.

What happens when you press the speed buttons and scoll wheel on the steering wheel? Do you see the set speed change on the Comma?

Do you have experimental mode enabled? If so, turn that off as well.

Can you show me your settings when you have a moment? Also check under the developer menu on the device itself whether Alpha Longitudinal is toggled on.

I got it! I was usng sunnylink to turn it on. When you mentioned the setting on the device itself i went out and found it on the comma 4 itself and it was disabled. I enabled it and it works perfectly!!!!! Thanks you @gerrylum for all your help and for your awesome install tips and videos. I watched all your videos and read the guide several times. It made it so much easier. So happy!!! One more question. I used the fuse tap and the fuse that stays on. I thought i saw somewhere where someone said to change a setting to prevent it from draining the 12v. Do you know the setting and if so what would you recommend setting it to?

Awesome! Great to hear you got it all working, and I appreciate your support for my channel!

So the setting you’re looking for is called “Max Time Offroad.” I keep mine set to 30 minutes so I have enough time to upload logs and videos after I get home, but you can adjust it higher or lower depending on your needs. Once the vehicle is turned off, the Comma will remain powered on for that duration before automatically shutting down.

@jrmbadger Where are you seeing this setting on the device? I see it on sunnylink and I've enabled Alpha Longitudinal multiple times but it keeps resetting to disabled even after I push the change to my device. I don't see an option for setting this on the comma 4.

It is under the "Developer" menu on the device.
