Maybe...some have reported their G2 are perfect. No suspension noise and perfect build quality with premium audio that is only barely percieveably less than the Meridian audio they had before. Yet others say they have door alignment issues, clunk still present, and premium audio is terrible.

So who really knows?

Answers will vary wildly depending on who answers now...
That's tough...all the conflicting reports. I understand everyone has a different sensitivity, but mine is so noticeable that anyone riding in my truck with no music on will comment and ask questions.

I think there is a bit of variance to the sounds. It's in the upper teens outside right now and there's almost zero noise. When the temp is below 60F the sound lessens. When it's below freezing the sound is virtually gone. If I had the ability to inject grease into the half-shafts this would be history 365 days a year.
Gotcha, for what it’s worth, I did receive my truck at the end of September and had several weeks of 60+ temps without any noise noticeable. Will have to see what spring brings.

Here's my front-left axle clunk braking downhill into my uphill driveway with a bit of speed. At slower speeds, I'll usually get a single "tock/pop". Driving home from holiday travel, I noticed some axle noise turning 90 degree right in conserve mode, which was new, but I've had the noise in the video for a bit.

Don't need full volume to hear this one... Truck is going into service center on Feb. 3rd.

I do have updated front shock assemblies. Drives fine aside from that and the usual odd sporadic suspension clunks.

Ouch. I've heard the exact thing on other videos. I never had that in my 2023 R1T. I just had a consistent rattle at low speeds on uneven pavement.

That is exactly the same noise I have on my early R1T. We have a steep driveway and a right hand turn part way down. I have videos I sent to Cleveland SC where I have an appointment to get fixed later this month.

Yup sounds the exact same. Looking forward to knowing what the issue/fix is.

From what these other threads mention, it’s most likely CV axle / hub bearings and not a safety issue… for now.

The reason why all R1s do it (including G2) is because of the axel design. These are the axels our trucks have. It’s the movement on the linear extender.

I had clunking sounds front axle going over bumps or just making right turns. Apparently, I was missing a bolt down there. They fixed that along with middle dash rattle

Just got the truck back from service. I was able to get my apppointment moved up a few weeks to 1/24. Front clunk turned out to be a passenger side CV axle with too much lash. They replaced it and a leaking motor seal up front as well.

Additionally, I had a rear suspension groan which turned out to be a torn bushing on the lower link.

I asked about it and they replaced my front jounce lines to upgraded parts. So far all is quiet again.

I pick up mine from the service center tomorrow. They said the 1/2 shaft and CV joint was bad and replaced them. I will let you know if it is now all quiet. They also worked on the driver's window wind noise.

1850 mi on my 2025 R1T. While driving in bumper to bumper traffic, a loud grinding noise developed from the right wheel. Had to be towed to the Rivian service center in Eastvale, Ca. Truck was kept for 5 days while they replaced the right half shaft. A bolt had come loose, causing damage to the half shaft. Besides breaking down on the freeway, having to get a rental car to complete our trip, the service was done in a timely manor, and treated well. Thank you Joslyn.
