Center console lid rattle

Does anyone else have a continuously rattly center console lid (11.5k miles)? Basically mine doesnt rattle if i leave it open, or if i compress the two halves inward. there's just about 1/16' of play that if taken out relieves this. Pressure on either sides of the lid does not stop it. I dont see anything to tighten. Not really worth a SC trip (especially in winter dont want to drive the 911). Was thinking a strip of black double sided tape could be an easy fix.

Mine is not doing that, but a strip of Velcro loop might do the job nicely.

I had the same issue and mine is less than 1 month old. I don’t think its latching mechanism is strong enough. I bought some black felt paper with adhesive in the back and covered the touch points. Really silly for a car like this, but it does the job.

I had the center consule rattle also and did the same as pangpang77 above. I used some of the following foam weatherstripping on the spots above and it took care of the rattle. It's been about 3 months after putting on the foam and so far the rattle hasn't come back.

Mine is not doing that, but a strip of Velcro loop might do the job nicely.

I always have a roll of velcro for these exact reasons. Most often using the soft half only as a way to add some pressure wherever needed to stop a rattle.

Finally did it. Absolutely did the trick. Have plenty of leftover tape.
