BC 2020 Preorder - ETA Jan-Dec 2024 (sigh) - R1T quad/Maxpack manual cover

Which means to me possibly 1 day before 2025 (lol.) As stated in the big thread if they offer a dual motor maxpack for next summer 2023 I'll consider that based on how they make out rectifying the other inherent issues.

Those being, phantom battery drainage, suspension issues/noises, heat cycling tow issues, QC issues and a few more.

I feel if I am sacrificing something, then I would want everything else to be spot on.

My wife is so annoyed with the date change, that she is going to be driving the old F150 as her grocery-getter much longer, and I have the little Kona EV (which has 8000 km and has been really good so far btw) as my commuter vehicle.

I am placing a deposit on an F150 Lightning soon, which in watching videos apples to apples appears to be a better tow rig, and gets a little better range on the base battery. The new lightning now has a longer range battery available (stating 515 km vs Rivian 600km +/-) But it seems like the ford range so far has been understated, where as the rivian range is more close to maximum.

I just do not care for the (full) size footprint of the Lightning. (I already placed a too late deposit on the silverado.)

I'm actually glad that I never made an appointment to view the Rivian. It's kind of like, what's the point now, as if it comes 2 years from now, and I stick it out, some things will likely have changed.

Yeah feeling quite meh, but there is nothing else out there with a long range battery so..... whatever. Let's see who gets their trucks in production first. I hear the chip shortage issues are alleviating, that's positive.

My prior estimate was first half of 2023, so nothing changed for me there. I wonder if they’ll wind up extending the R1 shop to Vancouver before then though?

The Polestar 3 disappointed me, hoping the EX90 can show a bit better. My options are dwindling fast if I want something next year though...

In the same boat. We'll see the EX90 timelines but I wouldn't be surprised if they're better than "meh, at some point"

Was originally told our Max Pack R1T would be 2H 2023.
Now they just say, 2024.

I guess this gives Rivian time to fix the tonneau cover and gear shuttle they took away from our configuration, along with working out the other first model year kinks. And it might give the Bank of Canada time to effing cool it.

But, this also gives GM time to splash with its electric Silverado. They originally claimed ours would be ready for 2H 2023 also.

I guess we'll see who makes it up our driveway first.

You know there’s someone burning the weekend oil at Rivian, flipping between the excel spreadsheet from hell and whatever they have to do in SAP to make this shit work.

I don't know why the guy in Manitoba is so upset. Tesla has been around for well over 10 years now in Canada, and still haven't officially expanded into Manitoba. Unfortunately the population, and demand for EVs just isn't there yet for even the biggest EV manufacturer in the world to setup a proper location there, let alone a small startup. If they did deliver a vehicle to you, and you had an issue, what would you do? Expect them to tow it to Minneapolis for repairs, or Toronto? Logistically, and financially it doesn't make sense to expand into the prairies just yet.

I understand the disappointment, but they can't keep everyone happy.

May 2019 Pre-order for R1T Adventure and my date is 'Processing'. In Toronto. They assured me up until 1st week of Sep when I spoke to CS that I am a guaranteed 2022 Delivery. I knew that was BS because there aren't any signs of a SC.

So, I may be getting into a f-150 lightning by end this year - Ford called me yesterday - FU Rivian.

That does sound encouraging but TBH I would not rely on this as accurate information. Maybe since you are a LE holder, they are giving you an optimistic window. But they will most definitely change or move it.

From the small sample size, Ontario and Quebec pre-order holders are sitting on 2024 or processing.

the windows are not set in stone but they do hint at the sequence of their expansion plans
