I've seen a grand total of five 2025 R1 vehicles in the shop in ALL of Canada, mostly right at the end of August. I got excited that finally Rivian remembered Canada exists. Then it slowed to a trickle, one every few days, and now nothing at all.

Canada:
Rivian R1T R1S What's up with (zero) Canadian 2025 inventory? 1726162031506-fd

USA:
Rivian R1T R1S What's up with (zero) Canadian 2025 inventory? 1726162061575-1a

Did that fire at the factory burn up french language stickers or something?? I get that the market in Canada isn't as big, but there's loads of inventory in the US, plenty marked as "nationwide", that's just been sitting there not selling. The few cars that appeared in the Canadian shop went quick, clearly there's some demand here.

1. Thanks for using Rivian Roamer! Hopefully it's been useful.
2. These are listings and aren't 1:1 with vehicles. Sometimes they will list a vehicle multiple times as different configurations. Here's an example, they are the same vehicle.
3. They've only been trickling up inventory to Canada for some reason, perhaps keeping them in US due to exchange rates? Not sure.

Thanks for the amazing resource! Very useful. Will certainly be using your referral code for my purchase if/when it's available in Canada.

Good theory, but the Canadian pricing is already inflated beyond exchange rate 😢

I really wonder what the difference is between US and Canada spec vehicles. Too bad they can't be transferred.

I'm not convinced there is a physical difference. I could be wrong.

I say that because based on some things I've seen on the backend of RR it looks like Rivian shifted inventory around from US -> CA and CA -> US. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

Dozens of 2024 Rivian R1S vehicles were held in Toronto earlier this year and sent back to Normal before the end of the third quarter. While I was awaiting delivery of my own R1S, I was tracking over a dozen 2024 models over a 2 day period that had been shipped back from Canada to Normal. These vehicles were all quickly reserved—typically within 12 to 24 hours of becoming available. When my R1S appeared in the system, I reserved it quickly. I have a feeling Rivian sales are not as robust as they anticipated and Rivian is now prioritizing US sales over Canada.

When pricing is significantly higher than the US and there's no incentives for the older models, and no leasing, many Canadians I'm sure are waiting for the 2025 models.

The 2025s ARE trickling in now. I heard from a Rivian employee the early September halt in inventory was because they messed up some sort of Canadian certification, a label or something was missing french translation...causing the multi-week delay, right at that critical moment
