I think Lucid has a chance to survive only because they have big money behind them, but other than Rivian I can’t point to one who looks like they even have a chance. Canoo is cool but barely hanging on. Aptera same thing. Lordstown never had a chance.

I guess it’s hard to make EVs:(

I would like to see them all make it. I'm a fan of the new guys. I hate to see them plowed under by the big guys. Why can't a small company putting out a good product survive? Ford was once that company.

I hope Canoo survives treading water. I really like their pickup truck. It's a 21st century version of the iconic air-cooled Single Cab VW.

Fisker is the only one that has a chance outside of Rivian, Lucid....and that is because of Magna Steyr......slim chance.....

The Canoo is the true Microbus of our times, not that hideous ID Buzz thingy. I’d absolutely pimp the pickup version of that.

Reading that artical was like drinking bitter lemonade. All good info but mostly bad news. So the winners look to be Rivian then even money on Lucid with Canoo and Vinfast in the low odds. All the rest are long-shots or outright scams.

It's a battle to gain volume. In manufacturing, increasing volume decreases costs. It's called Wrights Law. Tesla has benefited and now is the low cost manufacturer. Rivian is trying hard to ramp up volume and if they can do it successfully, their costs should drop and they have a path to profitability.
All the others are at the very low volume end of the cost curve and will have to burn a lot of money to gain volume. Some have access to money, others not so much.
I thought the article gave a good balanced description of the industry.
