  1. Can't imagine a worse car-buying experience

Maybe one of two but I wouldn't tar them all unfairly.
  2. Can't imagine a worse car-buying experience

Sounds like the guy was having a bad day. Sorry for your bad experience. However, how does it compare to the standard car dealer hustle where you get jerked around between the salesperson and the sales manager to extract maximum dollars and patience?

  4. Camping and sleeping in the R1S - a success story

Makes sense to heat the body, not the whole car.
  5. Let’s ditch the corporate service call center, ok?

"Chat" is also very inefficient. It requires a real time conversation and leads to human responses which are hastily thought out or AI responses which are often stupid. The best method of conversation is that of text or email which smooths out the peaks and valleys of demand and creates a clear...
  6. Let’s ditch the corporate service call center, ok?

Call centers are inefficient. Talking real time to people on the phone is a waste for both sides of the conversation. Tesla does all routine communication through the app. Much better service. Smooths out peaks and valleys of demand and leaves a clear record trail and avoids miscommunication and...

  8. Rivian needs to push V2H update

Are you saying that the vehicle doesn't control the power coming into it from a DC charger?
  9. Rivian needs to push V2H update

The vehicle needs to control the DC voltage coming into the battery. The DC could be coming from a L3 charge station or another vehicle battery.
  10. Rivian needs to push V2H update

I don't think it would require an inverter but would require some way to throttle the DC voltage from the donor car to the receiver car. This could be done at either end. If it's on the receiver car, the existing circuits which manage DC charging from a charging station could be used.
  11. Tesla refusing to buy back Cybertruck or allowing buyer to sell elsewhere

I think FooF was referring to the possibility of trading it in at Tesla on a different Tesla and then selling the new car. Tesla might take it back as a trade-in.

For your entertainment: Rules for Ferrari https://www.hotcars.com/rules-ferrari-owners-employee-rules/ Also: I picked up my 2013 California last week. Among the stack of papers I was required to sign was a two page contract giving Ferrari a right of first refusal (no time limit) if I ever...

  15. Getting cracked roof glass covered under warranty?

How is it cheaper to cut a hole in the roof and procure a piece of glass to fill the hole, install it with seam sealer, etc. than to just install the metal roof without the hole, glass, etc.
  16. Getting cracked roof glass covered under warranty?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just not stamp the cutout for the glass and install the roof without the hole filled with glass? I believe the "purpose" of a glass roof is to provide light and a view of the outside. It definitely costs more than just having a solid metal roof.
  17. Getting cracked roof glass covered under warranty?

A small chip on the edge can lead to a large crack. Contact your insurance.
