I called Rivian today and was told that my subscription lapsed and that's why I wasn't getting any hands-free driving anymore on Highway 10 one. My car is a 2025/26R1T quad. I thought I had unlimited lifetime connectivity apparently that's not the case Anyone else have this experience where I'm now forced to pay for a subscription and how much is it?

Only the Quad Launch Edition got the lifetime. If yours isn't a Launch Edition, you got the free trial, then it became monthly.

Since only 2nd Gen LE got hands-free driving, that was a given. :-D

Technically, 1st Gen LE has lifetime Driver+ full functionality as well.

Connect+ and Autonomy+ are two separate features.

You may have lifetime Connect+ without the Autonomy+

adaptive driving and connectivity are two different features. Connectivity does require a subscription after a few months. Adaptive driving does not, at this time.

Adaptive driving, for Rivian, does not require a subscription. Tesla FSD charges $99mo for the access. My husband has a Model Y / Juniper and is nearing the end of his free trial for the FSD service. He is not going to opt for the subscription. Just not in the budget.

We'll pay the $150 a year for the service - the mobile hot spot it's saving us a lot on wireless data usage. Screen shot of what is included in the Connect+.

Would we pay for an FSD-like component for RIvian? Depends on what it does and what the subscription would run.

Rivian stated that all G2 cars will have no autonomy without paying the $50 subscription or $2,500 single fee. I brought this up in another thread and people brushed it off. I don’t feel Rivian autonomy today is worth any subscription fee.

I like the autonomy features as available at this time. I think it wouldn't have been worth it prior to the UHF update, but now think it is worth it!

The car needs to stop at traffic lights and stop signs. Without that is not worth it.

For 2025 - Present R1 vehicles, fully read this support article at Rivian's site:

Rivian Support - Support Center - Rivian

It outlines the various features for Autonomy & Autonomy+.

Noted in there is that all current owners of 2025-present vehicles have free access to the Autonomy+ features until Feb. 2026, then a 60-day trial starts. After that, either a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase will be necessary to unlock the Autonomy+ feature set.

The pricing of this stuff will be interesting. I like the hands free driving, but it isn't worth $600/year. If it stops at traffic lights, etc then maybe, but even then I doubt it. I don't care for the hands free in traffic, and even glance away from the road and the warnings start.

Thank you for the link. I can almost talk myself into just making the one-time purchase. We have 15 months before a decision has to be made; I want to see what refinements they make to the UHF before I consider investing. My R1T will be 2.5 years old by they, and if the OTP for UHF can be transferred, it might help with resale down the road in 4-8 years.
