I've had really good experiences with both the on-site and repair center appointments. I am based in Rhode Island and my closest service center is in Canton MA; about 35 miles from me. In all SC cases, I was provided with a loaner vehicle for the duration of the service.
I would think along those lines, as well.
With an internal combustion vehicle, there are anticipated failures within milestone mileage, Things like timing belts, head gaskets, various pumps, etc. Question: With an EV, are there also such anticipated failures when it come to mileage milestones?
I have Gear Guard set to monitor when not at home. At home, all bets are off... :(
When I first got my R1T, I did not have it set that way, and it recorded me moving around the garage around the truck. A lot... And awful lot...
Recently, I did see someone letting their shopping cart run...
They just opened up a group of "Red-E " charging stations on Broadway in Fall River MA (for me, about 2 miles from the house). Stopped to check them out this morning.
So... $5.00 for privilege of a session and $0.50kw at no more than 120kw per hour... CCS only (no NACS here). I looked at the...
I've been thinking about a cap for my 2nd Gen R1T. Do they make a cap that latches onto mounts on the top of the bed wall? I'd like to maintain the usability of the tonneau cover. Of the two links above, both seem to require clamps.
Wow! My sensors tend to scream at me from all angles when trying to back out, along with RED warning arrows on the camera views. I will say, though, I often realize that the space between me and the objects in question is considerably closer than what I see in the camera views. I will say...
And so the conversation is beginning...
An afternoon of errands with the husband; we took the R1T for the outing. Rhode Island is in the middle of this recent "heat dome"; the onboard thermometer was reading over 100 degrees under unfettered bright sun for the entire trip. (Note: I...
I got hit with that exact error weekend before last! I did a hard reboot and it cleared it. The error has not returned. Lovely.
Put me in the "I've seen it!" column.
Just a question; a while back we had posted a wish list of being able to include our Tesla Supercharger subscription information within the Rivian OS (much like Apple Music). I recall back then, it was being considered and / or under development and the holdup had to do with some...
I get that. We are fortunate to live in an region with a large EV charging infrastructure, and on planning an extended road trip for mid Autumn down the Eastern seaboard, see that our route and extended stops all have sufficient charging infrastructure. Every destination we've taken the R1T to...
It's up to preference.
Are you a truck person, SUV person or sedan person?
Are you a Ford person or a GM person?
Are you a US brand or an Asian brand loyalist?
Do you prefer VW or Mercedes over BMW?
Do you prefer electric over gas or hybrid?
When we were ICE owners, and at the gas...
It's not just you. I am totally blown away by the physical build quality of the vehicle; the fit and finish continue to be superb after nearly 20 months of near-daily driving...
But the operating system leaves a lot to be desired. I feel like I have to perform a hard reboot of the truck at...
I have hit a few manufacturing defects that the Canton SC took care of in short order; which I would have expected of a manufacturer of any new (2025) vehicle still under warranty.
Structurally... mechanically... build quality my R1T continues to be superb! 20 months, no rattles, no road...
