My R1T is mid 6000. I guess they’re playing it on the safe side. It’s hard to believe they can’t push out a firmware update for Limited amount of vehicles they have made (sub 10,000 vehicles)in a 24 hour period.

I'm 3,666 and haven't received the update notice yet.

Ok, wth. It seemed like they were arranged by VIN or delivery date, but I haven't been prompted to download it and my vin is much lower. Really could have used pet mode this weekend...

They probably wouldn't do it by VIN or delivery date - they'd want as random a spread of cars as possible, so in the first batch they'd want both early builds AND recent builds. They probably pick some other random data point to group the batches by unrelated to build date to ensure random spreads.

yeah, it seems like they started rolling back. Until recently it was fairly obvious where the order was coming from.

Does anyone know if this fixes the auto seat adjustment bug? My wife is much shorter than I am and the drivers seat doesn't auto-adjust based on profile.. so I'm either eating my knees when I get in after my wife has driven it or she looks like a 2 year old trying to see over the steering wheel before adjusting it. ?

It absolutely was supposed to do this. Mine did it right after an infotainment reboot, but stopped after a few days.

Minimum of a full 2 weeks, IMHO.

Apple makes it available to all the public at the same time, but they don’t actively notify everyone — that happens in batches, over the course of a few weeks. They do let eager people check for and install updates, though. But most people don’t, and ultimately the update installations get naturally staggered.

I've mentioned this before in other threads; but the key difference is most tech companies allows a motivated person to "manually" install an update now. This percentage of people is so small it doesn't change the safety factor.

I'm wondering if the car wash mode that retracts the door handles means that you can actually still open them when they are retracted. I'd prefer that to be the default mode instead of pushing them out, pushing on the opposite side to pop them out and open the door would be great. I don't like the obvious sign that the door is unlocked.

So I have the new version and decided to wash the car today which is something I can still do with my expired tags. I put it into car wash mode and washed the exterior. When I went to get in to repark it I couldn't access it. I tried locking/unlocking and pushing in the handle with no result. I thought I was going to have to call for assistance, but remembered the key fob short-long press to lower the windows and bingo that got me in.
I let my guide know and he recommended putting a service ticket in so I'll be doing that.

Rivian seems to follow Tesla here, there was really no way to get the Tesla updates until it was pushed to you.

That being said, a while ago if you drove to a Tesla service center and connected to their WiFi it used to push the update to the car. Not sure if that works any longer as I have not done it in a few years but might be worth a try for Rivian as well.
