  1. Is Voice to Text Messaging without CarPlay/AA Even Possible?

Tesla lets you read and dictate text messages from their OS without using Siri or CarPlay (obviously). Honestly it's kind of nicer than CarPlay because Tesla will actually show the text of the message in the UI (though arguably less safe).
  2. Conserve Mode Efficiency Improved? Rivian R1T real world range on a 900 plus mile trip averaged 2.7+ miles/kWh

What you're missing is that the flattest part of SLC is 4200 feet, I live at 5200 feet on the Wasatch bench. So I have to descend/ascend another 1k feet, and also the whole thing isn't a consistent linear gradient, you get to the top of parley's summit and then there's downhill which you regain...
  3. Rattles & Squeaks

It was fixed awhile ago but it's come back....
  4. Conserve Mode Efficiency Improved? Rivian R1T real world range on a 900 plus mile trip averaged 2.7+ miles/kWh

Ok this is a little crazy... I drove from my house in SLC to Park City over the weekend and back. There's about 5k elevation gain over the round trip. Done in conserve on 20" AT tires.
  5. 2022.23.3 OTA Update: Pet Mode, Parking Front Camera View, Cabin Light Adjustment, Updated Energy App & More

They probably wouldn't do it by VIN or delivery date - they'd want as random a spread of cars as possible, so in the first batch they'd want both early builds AND recent builds. They probably pick some other random data point to group the batches by unrelated to build date to ensure random spreads.
  6. R1T vs Model Y, a ridiculous comparison review

I traded in a late 2021 MYP for my R1T (with double paned glass), definitely didn't have the noise/rattles you're describing. I think the R1T is still a little quieter, but not by such a wide margin. Incidentally, my R1T actually had a bunch of rattles at delivery that they've since fixed.
  7. Elon Musk says that Lucid and Rivian are tracking toward bankruptcy

Doesn't that just make Elon a qualified person to issue this warning?
  8. Elon Musk says that Lucid and Rivian are tracking toward bankruptcy

I know people hate Musk, but I'm not sure why this statement is that offensive. He isn't saying Rivian is going to die, but that they're on a trajectory to do so unless something changes. I find it hard to argue against this - they're losing a lot of money. Sure, cash assets and runway are a...
  9. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Ok update on my test. Left my truck garaged for 36 hours. Started at 70%, ended at 67%. This is much better than I was experiencing before. 1% every 12 hours is acceptable. It's still a lot of energy to be using, but it's livable. Something I noticed: I checked on my battery a couple times...
  10. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

I'm out of town for work until tomorrow night, so I unplugged the truck this morning and we'll see how much we lose over the course of ~36 hours. Will update! Edit: I am also on the latest software update now.
  11. R1T and Mountain Biking

I've been loving my 1UP Equip-D, but I think I wanna get a tailgate pad for local rides (I don't like the parking sensor being blocker + tailgate being blocked 24/7). Are there any models any of you have liked with the R1T?
  12. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Did some testing last night. AC was off. Proximity unlock was off. Gear Guard was off. Lost 4% overnight sitting in my garage....
  13. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

No chance that has any meaningful effect on range. The camp speaker is likely a ~30wH battery (0.002% of your truck's battery).
  14. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

I was camping in Moab this weekend and went from 34% to 26% overnight one night... Not super fun being out there and stressing about battery (and also not having a good DC fast charger in the area). I had Gear Guard off. The car was super loud a lot of the time. My one theory is that I had...
  15. Charging Etiquette

I had this happen a few times on a recent road trip. One possible explanation is that the 150kW chargers were in use when the Bolt rolled up and they were forced to use the 350kW. I'm not really sure if they're justified in leaving the station in this scenario, maybe... As for leaving the note...
  16. Bed mounted vs hitch mounted bike rack?

I've heard anecdotally that 1-up makes the best racks (I also have the Thule hitch rack and not the biggest fan, also wanted easy expansion abilities). For Equip-D vs the classic, they both seemed like good choices, just the Equip-D had some nicer features (the pull handle) and I way preferred...
