My Rivian Blue R1T arrived today! Thank you to the awesome service center and delivery team out of St. Louis Park in MN!
I had been interested in the truck shortly after they announced the truck at the LA Auto Show unfortunately I didn't put down a reservation until Aug of 2020. If you look at the last 5 years we have been a 1 car family for 4 of them and we've been all electric since 2017. This truck is going to be our family hauler, grocery getter, road tripper, and work truck. There will be plenty of towing a boat, a large trailer for my mowing side business, and carrying bikes. Lots of exciting adventures to come.
This has been a wild week with getting assigned and contacted by our guide on Monday. She was great to work with and on top of everything. Got sent the PBA Monday after speaking with her and a few hours later the 8 steps opened up. Did all the steps that night and financed through Rivian to make the process quick since I wasn't quite ready with a different credit union. I'm going to try refinancing the loan to get a better rate with our credit union. Wednesday the guide said the truck was in MN at the service center and shortly after we were able to book home delivery for Friday 3/25. Delivery was smooth but a super windy day here with weird weather and cold. Signed the paperwork and learned we were the 4th delivery Rivian has done in MN. Super crazy to think we're on the front edge of this. The delivery specialist were both great and it being the first time my wife or I had even seen a Rivian vehicle it was a blast. I know some have waited far longer than us and I hope you all get your R1T or R1S soon because this thing is awesome. Worth the wait and the perma-grin just wont go away.
