Yes. $80. Discount tire. I would guess rims at minimum would cost $1200 including mounting. Every 3 years you would have to switch out tires for wear regardless. It would take at least 12 years to get your money back on dedicated rims for winter tires.

Minnesota here. I put on snow tires for all last winter. You'll never regret it, plus they are cheaper than stock tires. No need to buy dedicated rims as it would take years to get that money back (especially since your tires probably wont last more than 3 seasons)

An update, Rivian ended up replacing my wall charger. Works perfect now!

I did not do that, I will try it. Its odd as at times it will start charging, then error out within a second or two. Going into the service center on Friday, so I'll have an answer soon.

Interesting, I've heard noises that may be this. I'll be curious what they end up doing.

Yep. They even had me disassemble the charger and send pictures of the inside. I had it for 10 months with not a single issue until a month ago

Over the past few weeks my home charger hasn't been working properly. It started with "unplug and try again" as the error message, eventually working. Now it will not charge at all. The charger will turn green and eventually the charging port will turn red. I'm now using my plug in charger...

I've been having the same discussion in other threads regarding the HVAC system. I think the southerners are having difficulty understand how much it struggles in the single digits and below.

The 76F the cabin is set at is not actual the cabin temp. I keep my house at 66F. The Rivian struggles to keep cabin temps up in the cold. It would be interesting to see SET vs ACTUAL at various outside temps.

I think its a nice upgrade. It really helps when slowing down on slippery roads. There was a detailed post from someone else that went into detail.

Come to Minnesota, the temps were -7F this morning on my commute. 76 kept it mild, but by no means warm. Luckily I don't need the great efficiency for in town commute, but if I was planning a long trip, wearing my ice fishing clothes to make it to the next charger seems unreasonable.

I preheat at home while plugged in, but it does not pull from the external power if charged to its preset limit. Plugging in isn't an option at work.

I believe 76F. The heater struggles to keep up at low temps unless you recirculate, then the windows fog up. I had the seat heater on low as well as the steering wheel on.

Cold commute home this evening. 20" Blizzaks, All Purpose mode. Most of the driving was done between 30-40 mph on highway traffic. Efficiency taking quite a hit in these temps!
