Anyone have a recco for next set of tires? Got about 15k on the 22s with the factory pirellis, despite rotating, very little in conserve mode and my wife does not drive aggressively.

I put on a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 about a month ago (1300 miles) and have been very happy with them thus far. Smoother ride and quieter than the Pirelli. I saw that they have a Platinum version coming out soon but I was in dire need as mine were almost bald with 17,000 fairly easy miles and never used Conserve.

+1 on the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 .

I went the 119 load rating because my plan is to tow so I wanted the 10 ply and extra sidewall strength over the 115, although the cost difference between the 115 and the 119 gave me significant pause.

The stock Pirelli rubber on the 22's IMO was a performance oriented decision by Rivian with a real soft compound. I only got 15,000 miles on the rubber (with rotations) before I was down to steel belt on a couple of the tires. I do a fair amount of freeway driving, so I suspect the camber at lower ride heights didn't help my tire wear situation. Plus I was never happy with the balance of the tires which would start to vibrate above 65mph ... I was advised by the service center that they could only balance the wheel to 80mph which meant that (for me) I got vibrations at around 65mph. Not sure where the truth on the balancing lies, but it never worked for me.

Since switching I'll say that I'm enjoying the Michelin Defenders so much more than the Pirelli. With the Pirelli's I think the soft compound contributed to off center tracking on camber and road undulations to the point where it was annoying. The Michelins seem to hold a line better, and are much better balanced via the Discount Tire install than the Rivian OEM install.

My use case being 85% paved and 15% unpaved roads, so with that and the reasons above, I think I made the right choice.

I went with the 22 with a 119 load rating as well. Great tires I run them on my lightning too. For winter I run 20 with Nokian snow tires they are like glue.

depends on the roads you drive and tire preference but could not be happier with the Continental Terrain Contact ATs. completely changes the look of the car.

hated the OEM tires. awful in snow and gravel.

if you're not towing or carrying extremely heavy payload, I can also recommend the Continental Terrain Contact HT. I've been much happier with that than with the OE Pirelli. I had to replace my original tires at just over 10k miles. Part of that was the factory alignment was pretty far out of whack (a seemingly common problem). Even though the tread wear was pretty even across the tread, the toe was so far off it massively accelerated the tire wear. Whatever tire you get, I would highly recommend getting an alignment as well.

R1S Quad. I'm hoping for the Michelin Pilot Sport S5 becomes available for retail before I need to replace the OE 22". Currently OE on Ascent trim on tri-motor.

Have little less than 14k miles with 50% or so of tread left. Three road trips totaling about 5K miles with 70% on Conserve. One tire rotation at 7.5K miles and they are all wearing evenly. Only on Std regen, never on high.

Driven majority on AP/Low/Firm and little to no off roads (except shopping center parking lots - it's the wife's primary). With new firmware, its now set to AP/Low/Moderate.

You can't go wrong with Michelin tires. Ltx ride really nice. Pilots even smoother though the summer sport series are soft and will only last 20-25k miles. I bet the continental's terrain contacts are really good especially for someone looking for an all around AT. The ltx ms is ok off road but not quite as good as the ltx at which isn't available.

I replaced my 22" Pirellis with Continental TerrainContact H/T - love them. Quieter than the Pirellis and early indications are they will last significantly longer.

I just swapped out for the Continental Terrain Contact H/T yesterday. It might just be that new tire feel, but so far I am liking them much more than the Pirellis. I feel like I got a fairly decent price on them and Discount Tire did a great job swapping them out.

I reset a trip meter after getting them installed in hopes that I can get some fairly accurate efficiency information over time. Not much to speak of so far as I've only got about 20 miles on the new tires.

Just installed the 22 continental HT at Discount Tire today. Had no issues getting them ordered and installed.

Good to know the Michelins solved the vibration issue.

+1 for the Michelin LTX MS2 115H. Smooth ride and cornering. Second and third on my list were Continental TerrainContact HT followed by the AT. The 70k treadwear warranty and prior warranty experience with Michelins closed the deal for me.
