  1. Priority R2 delivery for R1 owners announced!

Received email at 5:20 EST and placed order.... Here's to wondering if my color options will cost me 1449 days from order to delivery like the R1S!?!
  2. I don't miss this at all

This thread brings back memories of my 1st time... There was no 2nd... It made its way into the lower frunk area with the mobile charger... Ease of use/reuse beat out perfect organization. Compressor hose 1 - Owner 0
  3. I don't miss this at all

Agree on washing windows but I use the Rivian's air compressor! Still have a number of ICE vehicles in the stable here and hate the thoughts of mechanical issues and big maintenance checkups :(
  4. Found an entire parking lot full of Kandi K32 Pickups

These would be great farm trucks for small chores. Toss on some farm tags so you can get into town for fuel, feed or material runs. Currently using a Japanese mini truck for this now but this looks even better being an EV. Price points are similar to the Daihatsu HD dump. Would really miss the...
  5. We need more "Home" locations!

These comments are cracking me up! Thanks for the morning break of monotony :) Our situation wont last forever as building at the 2nd place. I feel like the OP on the days I get to cut grass there - the car mirrors and door handles get a marathon workout...
  6. We need more "Home" locations!

Great post as have similar issues. Not sure this is a 'decent' workaround but I leave the keyfob in the car console. Our phones are the only keys we use. Wristband and cards are in a junk drawer somewhere. At home, the car is unlocked all the time so no issues. At home #2, it locks as cant set...
  7. Need more range for skiing

Glanced at it and saw the 'Does not fit your 2023 Rivian R1S' message. Further down it suggests it fits most factory square and aero bars so don't see why it wouldn't? Might give it or the Thule one a try and listen. Quick edit. Clicked the dropdown on Yakima site to change to the 52" fairing...
  8. Need more range for skiing

Similar situation here regarding range. Our kid's school does ski Fridays. Last year was no issue with the equipment inside the R1S. This year they are both skiing well so we aren't helping the instructors. My wife and I both ski during their lesson. Enter the Yakima Fat Cat EVO 6 on the roof...
  9. Paint Protection PPF Cost?

$6500 is going price in VA as well... no regrets doing it...
  10. Heated steering wheel update needed

oh man opnwide, def a chuckle on that one! agree with others tho. the system has room for improvement.... wait, i know, what about every other manufacturer that has this option? quick preheat mode akin to ICE remote start (if car is outside vs heated garage). wow, we can even queue the seats...
  11. PPF: Glossy v Stealth

sorry for the late add but here is our la silver in matte with blacked out mirrors and chrome trim delete.
  12. PPF: Glossy v Stealth

Congrats on the new Rivian! Our 1st R1S was el cap granite and we were wrapping it in full matte once some service center alignment issues were completed. that never happened as the car was totaled awaiting those repairs. We did install a small section on the driver side front fender to...
  13. Is there an elevation readout in the R1T?

agreed! useful information without having to grab the phone. use if often in the jeep...
  14. Lifted Rivian R1T on lift kit and 38s!! + Drag Race vs. Ram TRX

likely some truth to that but not sure we are the best sample set of critics. living on and around gravel roads, we expect it and dont lose much sleep over it. we also never wash our cars without the help of mother nature. we did fully matte wrap this last r1s because we like the looks. icing...
  15. Lifted Rivian R1T on lift kit and 38s!! + Drag Race vs. Ram TRX

never heard so many people talk about rock chips from offset tires. like hillbilly said, how close are you driving to people? we've had a number of windshield and frontend chips, none came from trucks/jeeps/4x4s. all came from interstate driving - mostly from semis. on any given day, 25-50% of...
  16. What Was Your Previous Daily Driver Before Rivian?

had the same - black on black, twin supercharged ford 5.0 with a few mods. miss the exhaust note. dont miss the low profile 22s we ordered back during city life (gravel country roads hate band-aid tires). given the R1S is a daily driver we went with 22s again but the generous sidewalls now love...
  17. Let's remove the Conserve Mode stigma

We started using conserve mode on highways on road trips. VA has numerous RAN chargers but seems like very few are near our final destinations. It's nice to stretch the distance b/w stops if possible - especially on the way home where we don't care how low the charge is as long as we get home...
  18. Rooftop Tent for family of 5 with R1S?

we ordered this family tent for our camping needs (2 adults, 2 young kids) https://www.cruaoutdoors.com/products/crua-aer-maxx they also make an inflatable insulated tent that goes inside it that we will purchase later - still waiting on the tent to arrive to test how it works.
  19. “Vehicle Error” after a few minutes of charging

dont think this will solve all the issues here but had similar problems with our chargepoint charger when we moved it to another house. at first, we thought it was the scheduled timing setting as the error would occur when we plugged in after school (4:30pm). chargepoint was scheduled to...
  20. We're OK, but our R1T is not..... rear ended accident

FWIW, we were in a similar situation with our R1S (1/4/19 pre-order). it was finally totaled after months of sitting at a certified collision center and having Rivian come onsite to assist in the repair quote. The good news was our insurance. We have Nationwide Private Client. In the end, they...
