I have no idea how you would get to $70k on a LE that's $57,990 plus destination. Are you adding accessories, taxes, registration, fees, etc.? Without taxes and other fees, even choosing the most expensive paint, interior and wheels should still keep it under $70k.

Looks very good; should be a hot commodity - I’ll probably own one down the road, but I’ll let others be the beta testers though; plus by then it should be clear if the R2 is successful enough for Rivian to remain a viable entity or not

Did not know I would be this excited about replacing Alexa as a voice assistant. When do we get it for R1?

That's what I want to know! When does this come to R1!?!

I see it comes with premium audio. I would love to see if the subwoofer is a 6x9 speaker.
It's below the dash as part of the center console, it looks round but not 10"...perhaps 8"? Hoping the enclosure is tuned well. Perhaps an easy upgrade to a better Subwoofer is not.

I’m an analyst, superforcaster and RIVN stock holder (from $7), but one of my greatest market research inputs is my SO (when it comes to cars at least) and A) she hasn’t been this excited about a new car in years and B) when she said “I want one in several different colors (we’re not going to do that but you get the point) I know the company is going to have a hit for at LEAST a while. ;-)

As a somewhat regretful early adopter of an R1S that disappointed in some respects–but was awesome in others–I am definitely cheering for Rivian R2. I hope the R2 is the vehicle that catapults Rivian into profitability. RJ and the Rivian team deserve it.

That looks like a 20A socket. I wonder if they upped the rating of the output.
Supposedly it uses the charger hardware and doesn't have a dedicated AC inverter. It should work much better than the R1's inverter, but I think it also means you can't use the AC power while the vehicle is charging. Which is a big miss for my use case of only wanting to plug the car in at a campground and likely a huge source of confusion if they don't have a way of informing you.

So I've come to the conclusion that it is for the better that they are not offering some kind of red or orange color. If they had, it would be impossible for me to have resisted ordering an R2 LE performance. I've come to the conclusion that I do not need a third row and have enjoyed driving smaller vehicles as of late.

I'll take my hint from the powers that be and go back into hibernating until the time comes. You did this for me, RJ. I understand. The R2 Tri/R2X/R2 RAD will come in a sexy orange color with gear guard badging and that will be the car for me.

I shall lay in wait until then.

They do look upscale. Really interested in seeing the margins on the R2.

Just a guess, but I bet the options are on the high side and that is where the money will be made.

Non-zero chance I get launch green and have it color wrapped. Thinking of something like a sunburst orange.
