By me, in Illinois at least, people seem to know who Rivian is. Many people have never seen one personally and ask how I like it and such.
Weirdest encounter so far, picking up lou malnatis pizza and a guy in a karate gi runs up and was super excited to see the truck in person.
Currently it is 150k total. 65k R1 line 85k EDV line. In the S1 they were not projecting to reach full capacity until the end of FY23.
They were looking into installing additional capacity to boost the plant to 200k. Not sure where that effort is at this point.
I believe they aren't...
Close!
My guide changed my delivery location to:
"shippingAddress": {
"line1": "100 Rivian Motorway",
"line2": null,
"city": "Normal",
"state": "IL",
"country": "US",
"postalCode": "61761"
}
for factory pickup.
While it sounds like a good idea for Rivian to do factory pickup...
Ok yeah that makes more sense. It isn't the battery but the electronics. The constant on/off can provide a source of failure. A lot of times this has to do with the expansion/contraction of the parts since they heat up while in use.
I'm not sure I'm following why it would be bad for battery health.
You set the truck charge to 70%. It charges up to 70% then stops. When it drops below 70% it will start up again. Hopefully they have like a +/- % to avoid constantly toggling charging. Like charge it to 70.9%, then when it...
Mine works decently. The range is very very short compared to my old Ram fob.
Also it takes a second or 2 after pressing the button for the truck to process.
I use the fob pretty much exclusively, no card or bracelet.
At 325 I find all these types of threads amusing.
I am acutely aware of the amount of weight I put on anything. Everything is fragile to me.
I even had one physical therapist who wouldn't let me sit in her chairs because they were only rated for 250.
I've only had one session record video and it was mainly triggered by people walking around the back side of the vehicle while i was in a parking spot. Are you sure the trigger isn't from the rear and then it continues recording?
Just my speculation.
The gear guard alarm may work off the proximity sensors. Parking in a tight garage would have all those sensors already tripped. The alarm algorithm may ignore the sensors that are tripped when entering "off" mode.
I guess it just depends on how sensitive they have the...
I use a collapsible stool on a string for my mom. Worked great in my Ram and works great so far in the r1t.
All the car play comments again. Surprised at how many people use an iPhone and are going for essentially a truck in beta testing.
Clearly the best way to remove snow from the roof is putting it in sport mode and testing that 0-60 :)
Then hope the tonneau cover is up to the challenge lol.
that sounds roughly correct.
48A @ 240V = 11.5KW. ~ 10% loss on the conversion from AC to DC gives you around 10KW usable.
miles / hour value will vary depending on too many factors to make it a reasonable metric for comparison (driving habits, driving mode, tires, etc).
You preface it quite nicely, but hearing some people require a 3 hour trip to the nearest service center means that some trucks are out in the middle of nowhere.
When you're located in a highly populated area, the weather prediction is much better than the middle of nowhere. When I go up to...
This leads me to believe you have a slightly unrealistic expectation of the guide functionality. I would typically expect a 24 hour turn around for any communications.
There's also the possibility they are out of the office.
If you completed 1-7, step 8 isn't done by your guide.
My guide was responsive, replying within 24 hours of my emails. But he got promoted the day after i picked up the truck.
When my 8 steps opened, i think it was about a day or so after before my guide reached out. I had already completed...
