I’m always concerned about body panel misalignment, especially with large components. I once had a car with some visible exterior misalignment, and it turned out to be a lemon due to structural damage caused by poor build quality. The exterior issues were just a symptom of a much more serious problem. I assume that’s very rare, but I would refuse delivery if I saw panel issues or uneven gaps because of my PTSD from that experience
Definitely not thousands, but also probably more than we see here or facebook. I think it's going just as well as Model 3 launch as far as reported issues go.thousandsok lol. Most people go searching the internet for answers when their brand new $60,000 car is bricked after 250 miles.
Agreed but how many have we seen bricked or with a serious issue like RivianTracker broken AC? 10 maybe? So double it to 20 in the real world? 30? 40? Either way it's still under 1% of deliveries. If it was a massive issue we would know about it, everything leaks in today's world
I sold my 2018 M3 and waited 6 months for my 2020 MY so really primed to get my new Tesla Jun 2020. Then Lots of quality issues, ended up being a terrible time to accept delivery.
We didn't get a Y until September 2021 so it was great by then. My May 2019 Model 3 was also great. I wish I could say the same for my Cybertruck. Four service center visits so far. I think it's good now that I am ready to sell it

My taillight on the liftgate was proud of the corner taillights by about 1/4". I didn't think anything of it because it was symmetrical and the metal parts were aligned/flush. But the service rep noticed it when I was pointing out other things and he offered to add it to the service request.
Mine needs a minor hood adjustment ...as it raises the latch ticks the hood catch. My charge port door could use a little love too. Other than those two things, the cupholder likes to pop out for no reason. But the build quality is so much better than my early vin 2022 R1T, I really can't complain.

Mine is very loud as well. I also don't understand how the gas tubes are calibrated because it only opens about halfway on it's own but the hinges and gas tubes allow for significantly higher opening if you push it open further.
According to my service advisor, this is a known issue. He said he expects that they'll have a new part to install in a month or two. They might be able to make adjustments now to fix it temporarily, but I'd rather just keep my cupholders open until a proper fix arrives than have them tear apart the console multiple times.
I think it sounded about the same as the frunk latch on my Cybertruck. I would have to open side by side to know if it's louder.
There's also a chance you're only on here to discourage people from buying a Rivian.There’s a chance that thousands of people have reported problems and are waiting for service while their cars are sitting bricked in garages. Those people just don’t have Facebook, Reddit, or forum accounts
