My R1S is my only vehicle (well, now that I sold my Ducati) and it’s perfect for any occasion. I too delivery late ‘24 and 5 days later I drove it cross country to visit my folks. I hoped the charging network was all it’s cracked up to be, and to my pleasant surprise it was. I also learned on...
The set of Pirelli’s (22”) on my R1S had 30k on them. I probably could have eeked out another 5 or 6. The performed well for my use. I’ll probably get the 21’s on the R2.
On another set of Pirelli’s I only got 3k on them, but that was on my Ducati which I rode hard.
IF the latching mechanism is comparable, couldn’t I disassemble my bars, cut off an inch or two from both ends (the open parts in the middle) and call it a day?
Couldn’t an inverse block be made where the touch surface is 100%. Basically a block with a hump on the top and the base with a hole for a bottle jack and an outer shape conducive to a floor or lift jack. And make the surface that interfaces with the vehicle have similar non slip grooves?
sure...
On the lighter interior (as well as some of the paint options) I wonder how late in 26 is “later in 2026” is? Like, sept/oct? That I can work with as my current lease is up then. After that, hmmm. might have to start force myself in to liking the dark interior.
The RA is neat. But for me I don’t really have a use case (yet). Granted it’s only been a day. I can see a good use for me would be getting directions and plotting a route.
My 1 complaint so far is the RA/texting. I don’t need the full number of someone who texts read out at EVERY step.
“You...
I wonder how much later is later? Timing for me at least is important. I want the coastal interior and if the wait is only a couple of months then that cool as my lease is up in Aug I think.
We have level 5 autonomy now. Just call an uber or Lyft and you don’t even need to keep your eyes open. The driver will do point to point for you. And it’s a pay as you go service.
I drove Kia’s version of that when my R1 was in the shop for a few days. Worst user experience I’ve ever had in a car. Word than the late 90’s Dodge Neon I rented way back when. Their dash is a mess. The info unit is rubbish. Ride quality is harsh. The only good words I can say is I only had it...
All very interesting. Personally it a toss. My bigger question regarding wheels and tires is if the compact spare that I have for my R1S (gen2) will fit the R2’s lug. Be nice if it did to same $700.
Thank you for this. It’s the last piece of the puzzle I’ve been looking for. At least once a month I need to haul my bass rig to a show and was hoping I could fit it all in without dropping the rear seats.
On mine, measuring from the gap between the front and rear doors, prior to that update I was at about 9.5 inches. After that update I was at about 9 inches. So a drop of a half inch. I’m in a gen2 R1S for reference.
I had something similar a month or so ago that had been persistent for a bit. Coincidentally I was unable to update to the last update (.03). Dropped it off at the shop and it was determined that a key sensor in the door went bad. They replaced it and all was normal again.
