Following the missus home from pickup on Tuesday!
First Midnight in SoCal they said.
Only hiccup was that software was not updated they pushed it the next day to us.
Otherwise it’s rock solid and she’s pumped (and that means I am ).

We stayed close, so I haven't gotten great numbers. Driving into a 15 mph headwind at 80 mph, I was seeing about 1.6 mi/kWh. Still planning on trying to make improvements on aero for this setup, just have not had time to.

Anyone else towing with their R2 yet? I need to flip my drop hitch but it did okay. Mostly 55 mph roads, stayed above 1 mi/kWh. Similar to my other EVs when towing this.

Does the R2 have any guidance on max ball mount rise height? That looks terribly unbalanced to me (trailer is way too much nose down), and more rise on the ball mount might help...

I didn't have the tools to flip the ball with me, it went from 11" clearance under the tongue to 14" after. Still a little nose down but a lot better.

Yeah, and I just looked in the owner's guide/manual and it says a max of a 1" rise...... which admittedly, is better than the Model Y (which when I owned one, limited to 3/4" rise).

Employee at the local Rivian store told me today they've had 500,000 reservations. Obviously just an employee, but hadn't heard that number anywhere before. Impressive, if accurate. They've had a huge number of demo drives, also.


Also, didn't realize from any of the other photos that this lights up. I kinda like it.

And I think this is the rear emergency door-release pull cord. Important to me to know exactly what this kind of stuff looks like:
