I don't need winter tires or off-road tires. There aren't any 20 inch all seasons with significantly more grip than Michelin MS/2. I will switch only if a much better all season tire is available on 20s.

I was looking for Michelin Cross climate 2 or Michelin Pilot Sport AS4. Unfortunately none of the high/ultra high performance all seasons are available for Rivian in 20/21 inch sizes

This is sad for me, I bought a new 21" from Rivian for a spare in my R1T. I paid retail! This is back when no one even had any tires! So, I bought with a Pirilie Scorpion Verde on it! about $1100.
Haha, I had a spare and then bought another lightly used set rather than new tires. So at one point had 9 ... sold the new spare and still have 8.

I was going to buy 4 so I could have snow tires, but at the time, no 21" snow tires existed! they still dont except for the Michelin Defenders.

Also not sure why dumping 21" is a thing. There's nothing inherently wrong with them and are great for highway and even light off roading. I thought snow performance was quite good last year when they were pretty fresh. The main difference is that there are few choices for 21" size. I just put 20" steelies with Hakkas on and was shocked at the weight difference. Where you can very easily put a 21" tire on, it is almost impossible to lift these snow tires. Will see what that does to MPK. Hakkas are also noticeable louder but that's to be expected. I will definitely keep 21s for summer and if someone has of 21s for sale within 100 miles of Cleveland, I'd be interested.

check your local facebook market !! I see quite a few here in the Dallas area that are not selling. There are absolutely nothing wrong with 21" except for no snow tires option and it doesn't look like any manufacture are willing to make it since Rivian itself decided to discontinue it. For at least two years, the only option is Pirelli until the michelin defender came out this past september with two months of backordered.
Rivian advertised 21" has the best range, but I guess they realized that you can achieve the same range or better with 20" and proper size of all season tires.

Wheels/tires are most valuable when they are take-offs. Once you put on a couple thousand miles the value is diminished significantly. The tires are a large part of the value as they run about $475 each.

Measure the tread on the tires. At 7/32 they are half worn out. I wouldn’t run them below 4/32nds.

I was fine with the 21s, infact preferred them. But now that they are discontinued I think it's only a matter of time when our choices for tires are zero.

The Michelin 21 was $421.60, approx $100 less than the Pirelli. Going to be all in for $521.60. My wife wants to know where I am going to keep this thing! Haven't figured that out yet.

I sold my Ford Transit 350 HD Van to pay for the R1T. I also bought the Michelein 21" Defenders and saved $. I also think they are a better tire!

Both of my Rivians are 21", and I decided to switch to 20" when my R1s Pirelli went bad around 16k miles. My R1T is at 6k miles and Discount tires said it is already at 7 and 6/32 "

Cost wise for 4 new Pirelli or Michellin defender is around 2k to $2500. or you can get 4 MSW 20" wheels and tires of your choices for around $2500 to $2700. I went with Atomic wheels instead and the cost is around 3100 with tires. You can sell your 21" for cheap or just dispose them if you want to.

I think I am looking for a 21" spare. I just bought a used R1T. Of course,e it doesn't have a spare or anything... So I need to get a jack, lug wrench, and I have been hearing people talk about pucks.. Can someone help me out and let me know what I need so I can change a tire in case I have a flat in the middle of nowhere. Thanks

I had no luck selling mine. Ended up taking them to a scrap dealer for a total of $75.
Don't do that, if anyone in is the NYC area, I'd take one for under $200.

I can hardly find people selling them for under $400/each. The idea that people might be trying to sell them for $400, and upon getting no takers, selling them for under $100 is sad. Try the forums or something, lots of people will buy them for more than $75

@Dutch - I am local to you, its possible I could buy them if you want. 21" dont hold much value here in Colorado. Even the 22" inch dont. Most here in Colorado want the 20" so they can get sidewall for offroading.
