I wonder if the tonneau can be partially opened, I.e. does a second button press stop it…or just reverse direction?

if it can be opened partially that would be useful.
I wondered the same thing, especially since there's only one button.

I was informed that pressing the button whilst the cover is opening or closing will stop the activity. Pressing the button again will reverse direction. So in short, yes.

that’s good news, makes sense that it will work like a garage door opener.

I foresee getting really good at stopping it before all the water/snow/etc gets pushed off. Like rolling down a window to bunch up snow/ice without it falling in. ?

I would like to see a video of 1) the tailgate dropping while tonneau is fully deployed (CS said it could), and 2) someone crawling inside under tonneau to retrieve items in the event tonneau fails to open.

Where does the tonneau roll up? I can't really tell. The space between bounded by the back seats, the top of the gear tunnel, the back of the bed and the place where the place where it retracts doesn't look large enough.

A friend sent this to me at Underwood farm in Moorpark CA. Says it's still there if anyone wants to hunt it down.
I lived in that area many years ago. One day, my CDO brain saw the highway sign for "Moorpark" in the rearview mirror, and I've never been able to unsee what it said. Unfortunately, my friend in the passenger seat had just built a new home there.

I asked if he knew what it spelled backwards? He gave me a funny look and said "No, why do you ask?" Then he thought about it for a few seconds, and said: "Thanks a lot! You just ruined it for me!".

It really is a lovely town. My ex-friend still lives there.

I don't live far from Tigard, Oregon. It suffers a similar spelling malady.

You can see the tailgate drop while the tonneau is deployed at about 4 mins into this review:

Kyle didn't say they actually made poor architecture choices.

Poorly architected software makes maintenance and bug fixes more difficult, and thus more time consuming.
I know he didn’t. I was making light of the fact that he did the very non-internet forum thing of actually not speculating wildly.

Better solution for water, but probably not snow: use the air compressor to blow most of the water off the tonneau before opening it.

Just depends on how wet the snow is. Good idea.
