Since the update, my 2023 R1T has the volume up all the way when I get in the truck.
It's happened 4-5 times, when I scroll the volume wheel it come on full blast after being totally quiet even though I was listening to music last trip.
It only does it after sleeping and never any time else and I mean full blast!
I've done both resets, no help.
It's only done it a few times and now I'm ready but what the ??
Anybody else have this?

My wife drove my car and when I got back in it was at max, I thought she was messing with me.

Nope, it's a thing with my truck too, and it's like the volume is off until you scroll, so annoying!
On chat right now with Rivian but I doubt they can do anything, I'll just add it to the list for my service appointment next month for the stuck gear tunnel door...

I find my audio occasionally mutes after getting back in the vehicle, turning the volume wheel on the steering wheel 1 click unmutes it. Try that instead of scrolling.

Thanks, I will try that, unfortunately I never know if it will be blasting or not as when I get in the truck there's no sound from the system at all.

Try a soft reset to see if your navigation comes back. Mine was a black screen after a hard reset, took 2 soft resets for my nav screen to come back. Might save you a SC/mobile appointment.

Just do another soft reset. I have to do 2-4 soft resets every day....

I don’t think that’s how cars are meant to be driven lol

Anyways, I think it’s fine now. Anyone who is still having this weirdness try unplugging usb drive from central console.

idk if it was a coincidence but my Rivian is back to normal, yay

Yup. I don’t mean to sound overly dramatic but I’m dead serious when I say they will either add CarPlay/AA or go out of business* as a manufacturer.

(*Likely would just get dissolved into VW and they’ll pick what they want from the bones)



Just so you know, if you have an iPhone you will NEVER get iMessage without CarPlay. It’s encrypted and only accessible to the app and won’t transmit over just Bluetooth.

Looks like you must have been in line for the Apple car. How did that work out for ya?

I owned my Rivian for over a year before I did any soft reset, and I’ve had to do several over the past month or so.
Losing the garage icon, the same message earlier about alerts for motion sensor but no videos saved, but the most irksome is the promoximity lock wildly inconsistent. I had gotten in a habit of not locking my vehicle and about a half dozen times now I’ve come back and the truck was unlocked. Or, it keeps/locking unlocking in my garage even though I have it set to not autolock at home. Deleting and redownloading the app helped for a day or so, but even now I hear it locking and unlocking in my garage overnight.
I’m also having trouble since switching to Apple music from Spotify. Doesnt want to play when first entering the vehicle. Doesn’t pick up where the song left off. Sometimes have to choose a completely new song.
Unsure if all these issues are because of update or need to make a ticket…..

I haven't had to do a reset in either of my Rivians in months.

With this update both our Rivians have lost highway assist on long sections of i55 near St. Louis, and other roads where it used to be offered since we picked up our 1st one last spring - super annoying as it’s on our daily commute.

Not everyone is having the problems described, and it could be the influencers don’t have them, either. I’ve been reading about these issues and I’ve been keeping an eye out for them on our R1S but so far it’s behaving correctly. One caveat is that I haven’t been on a trip to try highway assist yet.

I think someone on here wrote about removing and replacing their USB drive to resolve issues and I don’t know how many with problems have tried that.

The issues with Auto suspension height a high volume setting both make me wonder if driver settings somehow got corrupt. Has anyone with these problems tried adjusting things as they want them to be, including suspension and volume, then saving their settings? No guarantees, but it is easy enough to try if you’re having these issues.
