Or come with that 1000 hp Enduro quad motor?Well now Rivian has to remove that stupid 110 mph limit. This can't be allowed to happen.
They could link it to the nav to ensure it couldn't be used on public roads.I'd probably never use it, but I do wish they would allow for a "secret" uncapped/track mode that would remove the limiter. Put warnings on it, disclaimers, whatever. Limit it to 0.5 miles of travel, fine. I promise I wouldn't use it on public roads. ?
I remember reading that it’s not an arbitrary limit, but a limit of the max RPM on the electric motors.I'd probably never use it, but I do wish they would allow for a "secret" uncapped/track mode that would remove the limiter. That would be more believable if people on this forum hadn't hit 130+ in pre-production units that used the same Bosch motors.I remember reading that it’s not an arbitrary limit, but a limit of the max RPM on the electric motors.
At least for the bosch quad motors, not sure if this is different for the in-house motors.
Methinks the latest version of the Nissan GT-R did that- locking some driving modes per location - and really pissed off the community. They could link it to the nav to ensure it couldn't be used on public roads.
Originally it was meant to be soft limited to 125 mph/200 kph. The only reasoning I've seen to support the current limit is the oem tire ratings. That would be more believable if people on this forum hadn't hit 130+ in pre-production units that used the same Bosch motors.
Anything over that speed would probably damage the front hood without a redesign of some sort. I hitted that speed limit a few times and the hood was fluttering so bad that I had to immediately backoff, this applies to my R1T and R1SWell now Rivian has to remove that stupid 110 mph limit. I have hit 105+ a few times and I didn’t really notice that, but I’m sure mine was doing the same thing. I was probably more focused on my life passing before my eyesAnything over that speed would probably damage the front hood without a redesign of some sort. It's tire limited, not motor limited. The truck is still pulling like a train up to the limiter.Well now Rivian has to remove that stupid 110 mph limit. This can't be allowed to happen.
Wait this is the CyberBeast and the Rivian beat the CyberBeast off the line? Wow! That is surprising even though it was just off the line.
