Anyone have experience removing the front license plate holder? Got an R1S from current inventory but it came with the holder and don’t like how it slightly interferes with some of the camera view and throws off the looks. Doesn’t seem easy to reach behind it though.

You can have kneel mode lower it on to an icy snow bank. That is how mine came half-way off.

Any pictures? Do you know if it is a factory holder or one of the many after market ones?
It’s the factory one. I got it new but didn’t get a choice to customize it since it came from current inventory

Did you have the factory one? Looks like it’s held in by rivets and not glued on

Not sure about a factory install. This is my low profile install and the thread has several other installs.

Well I’m not installing another one. I’m trying to just remove the factory one. I don’t need a front plate in my state
You could drill the rivets out and remove the bracket, but that will leave you with two holes in the bumper. Don't think you would like the look of that either.

Even if you manage to plug the holes, it may not look great.

Yeah still thinking of doing that. Would help with the small blind spot in the camera and might look better? Haven’t decided yet

I removed mine for the same reason - partially blocked the camera view. As I recall, it just unscrewed. It did leave a couple of holes in the bumper, but, seriously, one would really have to be looking to even notice them. Not a big deal.

It looks like they are rivets. Not sure how to get them out other than drilling them out but I don’t want bits falling back

It may have been rivets that I just drilled out. Whatever it was, it was easy peasy. It would certainly be no problem to replace it, if need be. I just threw it in the frunk, in case a cop called me on it. Gee sir, I don’t know what happened. It just fell off ?

Well my state doesn’t even require it
