Hey all,

Just took delivery of my 2026 R1S Tri in el cap granite 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. Had a question about window tinting and leasing. Upon return (and I'm sure the 90day pre-lease return inspection will also tell me this) will I be asked to remove the tints or does the inspection not really care?

Also something I'll have fixed at the service shop, has anyone had issues with alignment? Mine pulls to the right - I'll submit a ticket assuming this should be covered.

Thanks!

Car companies generally don't care about tinting. They only care about major damage and modifications upon lease return. You just took delivery, so alignment is covered.

I too notice my 2026 R1S wanting to follow the camber of the road, but on flat road I don't see this problem. Other threads I've read suggest it may be a tire issue.

It's over 7k lbs in GVWR, which is why it would be more sensitive to road crown than a much lighter passenger car. If vehicle tracks straight on level ground and with steering wheel centered, alignment would be in-spec.

despite the contract language, I've tinted every lease I've ever had. No one has ever said anything on turn in. If you keep it tasteful and similar shade as the factory tinted windows so it blends in, you'll likely be OK.

You'll be fine. Never had a lease require the removal of tint or fine me for it.

With autonomy+ enabled, the computer compensates and drives straight. However if in manual, not touching the steering wheel and hit the gas pedal (not even that hard) there is a distinct pull to the right. I'll let service figure it out, its not to the point where I feel its unsafe, just slightly annoying.

Thanks all who replied about the tint! will schedule the appointment soon.

This exact thing happened to me. Pulled to the right as soon as I got it, but I wanted to wait to be sure it wasn't just new-carness. Scheduled the appt. Rivian sent me an estimate w/ charges, but I explained it was a new car and they made it warranty. Day and a half labor and they provided a rental (Ford Edge ... weird car).

wow a full 1.5days?! I figured I'd hang out and wait for a 2hr alignment job - Thanks for the heads up!

The fix goes a lot quicker, but it also depends on check-in time and how much of a backlog they have. Plus I had a few other items I wanted them to check (first purchase noises, etc). Don't let my timeline set an expectation for them.

It depends entirely on how busy your particular SC is. If they keep it for longer than a day, they give you a loaner/rental.

I'm the same with you and tinted all my windows on my R1S including the windshield. I even had the vehicle ceramic coated, albeit with a minimal coating application and PPF my grill. IMO, whoever buys these cars next won't need to do any tinting.

As others have mentioned agreed tint typically isn't an issue however depending on the laws in your state they may look at windshields differently depending on the level you go with.
