Do you mind sharing where you have seen the information about a refresh?

They are shutting the line down in Q2 to make some internal changes to simply the wire harness and other things that will reduce the cost, similar to what they did with the EDV last year but nothing about any body changes for those enhancements.
Sure, a lot of what I have read has come from the internet, people who know people at Rivian, etc.

The most concrete thing I could point you to that comes from the company is RJ's description of the shutdown from the latest earnings call where RJ specifically mentions change to the body structure in April:

"I've talked about this a lot in the past, but massive consolidation of our ECU topology, massive simplification of our harness, simplification of our body structure, simplification of the HVAC system in the vehicle. So there's big changes that are going to be coming as part of that shutdown."

I think I might call bs on my own post. Look at the people standing, they seem stretched and the parking lines are weird.

The charger looks weird too, too close together
Why would anyone care enough to make this yet alone a really bad photoshop. It’s probably real.

I saw all of that but read it as all under the skin changes to simplify the build and BOM to lower cost. I guess we will know in a few months.

It would surprise me if Rivian made unannounced body modifications but not unheard of. I purchased a Model S in 2016, the vehicle that was delivered had a completely different nose than the one I ordered.

Seems like a bad photoshop job but maybe it’s just distorted. If that is the R2, the it basically looks like a shrunken R1. That’s be a bit of a let down as I was hoping for some fresh styling.

I’m more apt to go with the opinion that it’s a refreshed R1.
I initially would have agreed with you, but it looks shorter... Check out the size of rear windows

I've read about the shutdown of the line, what month is that?

(And what is that in the yellow arrow?)
Gary is scared of wide open spaces in the day time so they brought him some trees to hide behind.

Based on the R2 teaser video, the front end of the vehicle looks considerably smaller than the R1. Just look at where the light bar seems to hit the women (at her waist). Sure, I appreciate humans come in all different shapes and sizes, but to me, there's no way the R2 is as large as it appears in that image.

Rivian R1T R1S Is this the R2 spotted in the wild? r2

vs. R1:

Rivian R1T R1S Is this the R2 spotted in the wild? r1

Also, it's not like we don't already have a scale for the vehicle that clearly suggests its much smaller than the R1:

I hope it’s the R1 refresh and not the R2. I’m not a fan of different models being exact copies just shrunk down.

I’m also not a fan of the rear charge port. I hope they keep a front one too. I don’t back into spaces if I’m sane.

Calling BS there. That photos looks to be edited if you look at the back of the white R1S.
