Curious if anybody has heard anything new on existing R1S/T's being able to use Tesla Superchargers via adapters? I know they've said "Spring 2024", but was hoping somebody had some more concrete info. Hoping to do another road trip this summer....

Don’t hold your breath. Tesla is involved. Complain for Spring 2025.

Spring starts March 19th. The email said "as early as" so they have wiggle room to push this back. No further official guidance from Rivian or Tesla.

Now pure speculation on my part but here goes...

Tesla will open things up in phases. Ford and GM will go first.... Then I would expect Rivian to follow. Tesla will likely be making some major changes during this time too to manage traffic at their chargers.

We can't have Chevy Bolts and Ford Mach E sitting there charging to 100%. I expect Tesla will implement congestion charges, idle fees, etc to strongly discourage some of the behaviors that make EA such a miserable experience in most areas.

I expect there to be a lot of growing pains when this starts.

In Rivian'ese "as early as xxx" means "not before the last day of xxx"

I'll be surprised if we get it before June 20th. June 19th is still technically spring and Rivian does not have a track record of doing anything ahead of schedule.

The only reason they bolts and others are charging to 100% is that it’s free with EA. Tesla won’t have that so I don’t think it would be the same.

0 confrontation here. Just wondering where you are road tripping to? I have done Houston to Buffalo twice now and it's crazy how many more chargers there were November of 23, compared too July of 22'.

I can now go from western ny to Disney with all but 1 RAN.

So many Superchargers with the magic dock have opened up as well.

I know through the plains still isn't the greatest.

It is not Rivian setting the schedule. It is Tesla.

A related question is - how long, after the Tesla chargers open up, will it take Rivian to distribute the free adaptors? I’m thinking about my wait on my tonneau cover ? and, well, you get the picture ? Whatever, I still love my T.

Well the American companies jumped over to NCAS first and the others then followed. Seems to be fair in the order it is planned.

Didn’t they accelerate ford forward 2 months? They’re going live in February.
I don’t think anything official has been announced. Also, I’m a ford owner and it’s February this week and I’ve had zero communication on this and there’s nowhere to buy / get an official adapter

Tesla just installed a Magic Dock by me, so all set, although I always charge at home and free L2 charger at work. It will happen when it happens, and I'm sure I'll hear it on here first.

I don't think Rivian or Tesla care much for the definition of "Spring". If it happens this calendar year I will be happy. We should learn a lot from the Ford rollout of this.
