ElectraFi first reported a 2022 R1S Quad in Illinois installing this OTA on January 26.

Software Update 2024.03
Quick Controls
The former Vehicle app is now replaced by a new quick controls feature. Use quick controls to instantly access commonly used vehicle controls, such as doors, lights, and exterior mirrors. Choose Vehicle at the top of the center display (or swipe from the left of the screen) to open the Access panel. At the top of the Access panel, choose Shortcuts to access other controls, such as Car Wash, Pet Comfort, and Windows Locks.

Individual Passenger Window Locking
With Window Locks, you now have the ability to customize which passenger windows to lock. Go to Vehicle > Shortcuts > Window Locks > Edit to select the windows. By default, Window Locks both rear passenger windows (not the front passenger window).

Ride Feel And Ride Height Improvements
  • Expanded the selection of Ride Feel settings for on-road Drive Modes, each curated to accentuate the characteristic of the mode.
    • Firm: A more connected driving experience.
    • Moderate: The best balance of ride and handling for daily driving in All-Purpose, Conserve, and Snow modes.
    • Soft: Improved isolation from road and terrain imperfections
  • Improved Ride Feel in Conserve mode with smoother negotiation over speed bumps, potholes, and driveways at lower speeds.
  • In collaboration with the winning Rivian Rebelle Rally team, improved performance in Soft Sand mode by expanding Ride Height and Ride Feel selections for increased maneuverability in sand and when cresting dunes.

Additional Improvements
  • Driver+
    • Updated a notification in the Highway Assist re-engage function.
    • Highway Assist is now available on most interchanges (roads connecting two freeways).
    • Fixed a very rare issue that prevented Highway Assist from reacting to an extremely close vehicle ahead when traveling at less than 5 mph (8 km/h).
  • Infotainment
    • You can now use a QR code to more quickly connect to a vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot. To access the QR code, choose Hotspot in the status bar on the center display.
    • Fixed a rare issue that prevented the Settings icon from appearing in the app tray.
    • Fixed a rare issue that caused the seat calibration panel to appear when Adaptive Cruise Control engaged.
    • Fixed an issue that caused a notification to partially obstruct the camera view when the vehicle was shifted into Reverse.
    • Fixed a rare issue that caused Bluetooth audio to glitch after a hands-free phone call ended.
  • In the Rivian mobile app, when charging your vehicle away from home, you now receive a notification when charging is complete. When you charge at a Rivian Waypoints or Adventure Network, the notification also includes any idle fees, if applicable.
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused the mirrors to unfold when you exited the vehicle.
  • Fixed a rare issue that increased overnight range loss when Proximity Locking was set to Lock Only at home, the vehicle was at home, and the phone was within Bluetooth range of the vehicle.
  • Fixed a very rare issue that prevented scheduled drive preconditioning from pulling power from the charger, even though the settings was enabled.
We all know the truck has RGB ambient light strips, yet for years, we only get white (other than on Halloween). Seems like a quick and easy thing to add to the UI... Why haven't they done it, yet?

From what others are commenting it is probably a monstrous software task with EPA and NHTSA implications.

A: Certain exterior lighting colors are off-limits to average joe civilian.
B: It would be a non-essential feature for a personal/family car.

Now if you want ability to change the interior accent color to whatever you want, that has a higher likelihood. Just not a priority. "I got 99 problems..." With exception of Halloween, they are more keyed in on features and improvements that actually make the product better... instead of gratuitous gimmicks. Those engineers aren't making chump change. Wouldn't it be rather wasteful to have them work on fart sounds and exterior light shows? Imagine the unflattering headlines and online hot-takes then. It would not impress hawkish investors and the potential for litigation would be a self-inflicted distraction.

I would be ok they make these customization features a pay for access feature. Put whatever margin necessary to develope it onto the customer. It becomes not only a feature people talk about but one that generates revenue.

And sure.....don't make it look like a police vehicle while driving down the road....but I am sure when parked alot more can be done.

I believe items like RGB, driver++, maybe even Car Play will show up behind a paywall in the future. These features were never promised, vehicles are level 3 capable but probably at a cost. Even updates like these will probably become a subscription item with only security and safety features being a free monthly upgrade. There is no upside for Rivian to continue this practice at no charge indefinitely.

Not that I want to pay extra fees, but I would consider it strongly given all the advancements that have come via updates since I got my 1st Rivian. I am not opposed to additional money being available for development, just make it fair pricing.

I have to agree I like the Meridian in my truck better than the in-house system in my wife's R1S. Meridian did extensive acoustic tuning for these vehicles that has not been replicated in the in-house system. I would love to see a premium option from B&W, B&O, or Burmeister available in future vehicles with the Elevation being considered the entry level/stock system. This was a missed opportunity for Rivian IMO.

Anyone get this update yet? /s
It is still in beta, so it’s unlikely that anybody has it. The fastest these things go from beta to wider spread releases 5 to 7 days. It could take longer if the beta doesn’t work as advertised they will spend more time tweaking it before they release it.

They just haven't decided how they are going to monetize it yet. Pretty common for adjustable lighting to be an additional cost option for higher end vehicles.

I am good with paying for it. I am shocked they haven't started monetizing all the connected services.

And here we go again. You do know what /s means, right?

@Administrator: Can we get a sticky post explaining release schedules so we don't have to deal with this every four weeks? And would you please restore the BETA RELEASE text that you removed from the issue title? Too many people fail to understand that this is a beta release for employees only and customers like us aren't going to see it for another two weeks or more.

I purchased a new Jeep shortly after taking delivery of the R1T in mid-2022. Said Jeep has received precisely zero software updates to their crappy, slow, buggy UConnect system since then. Zero!

Yeah I’d like some more features in the R1 system, but its come really far and the truck gets better every month.

I think they absolutely have decided to monetize it, and that has always been part of the plan. I believe this and other features are essentially already written and will be deployed as part of the subscription services when that goes live. We haven't seen these features yet because the subscription services have been delayed.

Imagine the outrage if they introduce customizable interior lighting now for free, then try to move it to a paid service? Much better to hold it back until they start charging, because you can't miss what you never had.

I’m surprised the simple things like turn signal cameras hasn’t been done yet
