Whenever I see a truck on wheels like that, my FIRST thought is, "Man....someone is seriously compensating for something that's lacking elsewhere in his life."
Don't we all have something in life that's lacking? I own one r1t still I envy for many others in life.

Yep. You’re a huge dick if you drive a truck like this with no mud flaps and fender flares.
Fair enough, guilty. But it does keep people from tailgating me.

Why judge? To each their own. Same way you judge others they might judge you for some of the things you do or use. Who cares? Either you like it or you don’t.
I disagree. To each their own only applies if you're not actively impacting other people safety.

Abominations like that is a road hazard. Rivian is already a huge vehicle with limited visibility. Those modification make it a perfect pedestrian, dog and child killing machine. And a pretty amazing windshield rock thrower.

You lost me here. It’s far from huge by American standards and is smaller by a significant amount than most pickup trucks on the road.
The key here is "by American standards". For whatever reason we decided to engage in the arms race in this country to have the biggest and most effective pedestrian killer car possible but I feel like I'd be screaming into the void on this forum so I digress.

Since Rivians are only sold in North America I think that’s the only standard that matters.

Still waiting for the lowered R1T, myself.

You mean like this? I can say it did not enhance my driving experience.

The reason for the ever bigger trucks is the CAFE milage standard is based on wheelbase size. So the only way to meet the standard was ever bigger trucks. I thought that we were all collectively nuts. But it's an unintended consequence from the government. Here is a youtube video that covers this.

It’s 0-60 in 2 secs. Where is he getting that info from. He is drag racing in back alley….what the hell. 38’s like said will definitely damage the truck if lowered.

never heard so many people talk about rock chips from offset tires. like hillbilly said, how close are you driving to people?

we've had a number of windshield and frontend chips, none came from trucks/jeeps/4x4s. all came from interstate driving - mostly from semis. on any given day, 25-50% of our driving is on gravel roads and any tire from an AT to a MT will pick up gravel. at a high enough speed (usually once on pavement), that gravel will either fly off inside the wheel well, or in the case of the OP's R1T there is a good chance it might be outside the wheel well. either way, that is a rock that has potential to become airborne by another car/truck/semi etc..

offset wheels do way more damage to the owner's vehicle than to others. most of those rocks hit mirrors, door handles, fenders, hands etc.. i would venture to guess many of the folks with offset wheels never leave pavement (compensators).

guess we are more of the type to use our vehicles and realize they were only new on day 1. enjoy them every day after... our farm trucks and jeep are in the guilty camp also but are purpose built for specific reasons. wait, is this the thread about whether or not Rivians are true adventure vehicles :)

Pretty obvious from the hate in here toward guys that like lifted trucks that it's not the big truck guys with the inferiority complex.
